VALORANT Mobile surpasses 40 Million pre-registrations in China
VALORANT Mobile has announced in a “Developer Log” that the game has taken a significant step toward becoming a mobile gaming juggernaut in China, crossing 40 million pre-registrations just over two months after sign-ups began on April 21, 2025.
With five months still to go until its expected launch on November 25, according to the iOS App Store listing, the mobile version of Riot Games’ hit tactical shooter is generating unprecedented anticipation.
Setting New Standards in the Shooter Genre
The 40 million milestone is a strong indicator of the title’s hype and potential reach. For comparison, Call of Duty: Mobile previously reached 45 million pre-registrations in China, but that occurred after an extended campaign backed by one of the most recognized FPS franchises globally. VALORANT Mobile’s figures also outperformed Riot Games’ other mobile IP, Wild Rift's pre-register count, showcasing the growing appetite in China for more competitive, team-based experiences on mobile platforms.
While the PC version of VALORANT has built a strong foundation in Western and Asian esports scenes, its arrival on mobile is poised to introduce the game to an even broader demographic in China, where mobile esports hold a very large market.
Mobile-Exclusive Content and Features
VALORANT Mobile isn’t just going to be a port of the PC title, it includes features and content built specifically for mobile players. One standout is the "Warrior Academy," a dedicated training mode designed to help new players learn VALORANT’s mechanics through structured challenges and missions. Additionally, the game includes a smart communication system that simplifies team coordination, even for players new to the franchise.
Beyond training tools, VALORANT Mobile also introduces exclusive content such as the Team Clash mode, new maps inspired by Chinese culture, and mobile-specific optimizations that make the game feel fresh and regionally tailored. The development team has also confirmed that more devices will soon support high frame rate modes, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay for a wider audience.
Optimized Controls and Competitive Depth
The developers also mentioned that a key focus during VALORANT Mobile’s development has been adapting the core tactical shooter experience to mobile without compromising gameplay depth.
Riot Games and LightSpeed Studios have worked together to redesign the game’s control system specifically for touch devices. Smart dynamic touch feedback algorithms, anti-misclick protections, and an intuitive layout ensure that players can execute abilities, aim accurately, and communicate with ease.
These control refinements aim to strike a balance between accessibility for newcomers and precision for seasoned FPS veterans.
A New Frontier for Riot in China
Backed by Tencent, Riot Games is positioning VALORANT Mobile to rival top shooters like Peacekeeper Elite and COD Mobile. With over 40 million pre-registrations and a November 25 launch, the game’s mobile-first design and core features aim to replicate the strategic depth and competitive spirit of the original PC version.
