We are only halfway through VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021 and the community has had the opportunity to witness more drama and storylines emerging than in any event before. Day 6 of VALORANT Champions will be the final match of the event for 2 teams, and an opportunity to secure the number 1 seed for one team. Here is your guide for the day:

Match 1 Acend vs Envy: at 3:00 PM CET / 6:00 AM PST

Jonathan "Jhow" Glória usage of Cypher’s camera utility on Breeze in the opening against Acend broke Rule 7.2.6 of the VALORANT Global Competition Policy. According to Riot's initial ruling regarding this issue, Acend was to be awarded the six rounds where this exploit was used. Furthermore, to account for the economic impact of the six forfeited rounds on the subsequent rounds in the map, Acend was awarded one additional round resulting in a map score of 13:9 to Acend, and a 2-1 score to end the series.

However, the issue went into further consideration causing Riot to release the following statement: “After discussion with Acend, we will be replaying the match at the start of today’s broadcast with Acend ahead 7-0 (to account for the six rounds that involved the exploit and a one round Econ penalty).”

When Acend and Vivo Keyd played yesterday, the community witnessed a surprising performance from Vivo Keyd, who managed to tie up Acend at 9-9 despite the head start they had received from the competitive ruling. However, Acend realized their situation was worsening and managed to turn the game back in their favor and closed the map on 13:10 series putting an end to the most dramatic series of the entire event. Their win earned them a spot in the winners match against Envy, who were able to 2-0 X10 Esports. Given Envy’s dominant form in recent tournaments, this victory came as no surprise to the community. Losing maps, and almost the match to Vivo Keyd wasn’t the best impression for Acend, a reputable team from the EMEA region winning First Strike Brazil: Open Qualifier #3 and placing 2nd in Red Bull Home Ground - #2 - Main Event just before the VCT Champions.

    Head-to-head:

Despite the EU-NA rivalry and being participants of VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs, these teams have never participated in a head-to-head battle.

    Players to watch:

[flag = tr] Acend - Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt is a leading the stats for Acend with a 1.23 rating and 230 ACS so far. [flag = us] Envy – Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker is the team’s star player, with a 1.24 rating and 244.50 ACS so far.

    Map picks:

From recent matches, it seems as if Envy will go for Ascent, Acend with Bind, and the decider map being Breeze.

Match 2 Vivo Keyd vs x10 Crit: at 6:00 PM CET / 9:00 AM PST

After losing to Acend on the Breeze rematch that took place yesterday, Vivo Keyd Stars are scheduled to play tomorrow in the elimination match against X10 Esports who encountered defeat against Envy. From the looks of it, Vivo Keyd does have a better chance of winning, especially after their shocking performance in the Acend match, even on Breeze when they managed to tie up at 9-9 despite being seven down to start the map. The Thai squad were underdogs coming into this event, and it seems as if tomorrow can be the final day of their journey to Berlin; however, nothing is certain since upsets are customary in tournaments of such a magnitude.

    Head-to-head:

Both teams have gone to Masters events but have not faced off against each other, and it will be an exciting debut contest against the two teams, especially with potential elimination from the tournament at stake.

    Players to watch:

Brazil Vivo Keyd – Olavo "heat" Marcelo you need to keep an eye on the young Brazilian, who holds a 1.08 rating and 231.30 ACS. Thailand X10 Crit - Patiphan "patt" Chaiwong has been the team’s best fragger along with a 0.95 rating and 230.50 ACS.

Match 3 Sentinels vs KRÜ Esports: at 9:00 PM CET / 12:00 AM PST

An intense series had ensued between Team Liquid and Sentinels, and the way it played out was the pinnacle of the EU-NA rivalry in the VCT thus far. Although Team Liquid managed to secure the victory and qualify for the playoffs, Sentinels must jump over one more hurdle before their spot is finalized. This obstacle is none other than the LATAM superpower, KRÜ Esports, who made all the master events of VCT and hasn’t lost a regional event since April of this year. Both matches played a match with Team Liquid and while using these matchups as a factor of comparison seems far-fetched, it is logical to a certain extent. Team Liquid was able to defeat both teams but faced a relatively difficult series with Sentinels with a 2-1 series score, as opposed to a 2-0 with KRÜ Esports.

    Head-to-head:

Despite being a part of VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Masters Reykjavík and VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs, the two International LAN events in the VCT, these teams haven’t played before; therefore, it will be an interesting experience especially as Sentinels try to avoid elimination.

    Players to watch:

Chile KRÜ Esports - Angelo "Keznit" Mori is your player to watch with a 1.08 rating and 225.20 ACS so far. Canada Sentinels - Tyson "TenZ" Ngo shouldn’t come as a surprise with his 1.2 rating, 245.30 ACS, and 1.17 KD.

    Map picks:

After a 13-2 on Bind against Team Liquid, Sentinels might try their luck again on the map. On the other hand, KRÜ Esports is likely to choose Fracture.

    Agents:

    Sentinels:

    • Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan - Sova, Jett
    • Hunter "SicK" Mims - Phoenix, Skye, Sage
    • Jared "zombs" Gitlin - Astra, Viper, Omen
    • Michael "dapr" Gulino - Cypher, Killjoy, Viper
    • Tyson "TenZ" Ngo - Jett, Reyna, Raze

    KRÜ Esports:

    • Juan Pablo "NagZet" Lopez Miranda Lopez - Jett, Sage
    • Roberto "Mazino" Rivas - Sage, Viper, Killjoy
    • Nicolas "Klaus" Martin Ferrari - Killjoy, Cypher, Sova
    • Joaquín Ignacio "delz1k" Espinoza Soto - Astra, Sage, Brimstone
    • Angelo "Keznit" Mori - Skye, Reyna, Raze

All three matches will be streamed live at the official VALORANT stream.
