Verno reportedly to join MIBR ahead of VCT Americas Split 1
After securing a commendable 3rd-place finish at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Kickoff, MIBR has wasted no time in tweaking its roster. On February 27, the organization moved Agustin "nzr" Ibarra to the inactive roster, leaving an open spot on the team.
According to sources close to Sheep Esports, MIBR has now found its replacement in Andrew "Verno" Maust, who previously competed with NRG. This move signals a fresh shift in MIBR's approach as they gear up for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 1.
Betting on Youth: Verno’s Rising Stock
At just 18 years old, Verno has already built an impressive track record. The young American talent has secured eight first-place finishes in Tier A and Tier B competitions, including a dominant 3-0 victory over Gen.G Esports in the SVL - Main Event.
However, his Tier S debut in the VCT Americas Kickoff proved to be a challenge. Competing with NRG, Verno and his team finished in 7th-8th place, an underwhelming start at the highest level of competition.
MIBR’s New Direction with aspas and Verno
Despite a rough start to 2025, Verno now has a chance at redemption as he joins MIBR—a team led by star duelist Erick "aspas" Santos. The Brazilian squad aims to build upon its strong Kickoff performance and improve its standing in Split 1.
This change marks a key adjustment for MIBR, as they swap one initiator for another. Whether Verno will be the missing piece in MIBR’s championship ambitions remains to be seen. However, with a mix of experience and young firepower, the team has the potential to cement itself as a top contender in the VCT Americas.
As the VCT Split 1 season looms, fans will be eager to see how this revamped MIBR roster performs on the big stage.
