Everything You Need to Know About Annie in League of Legends
Annie is another champion who came out in the Alpha of League of Legends, and we love the little Pyromaniac, so we’ve got everything you need to know about Annie in League of Legends right here for you!Annie might look sweet an innocent, but her and her best friend Tibbers certainly do pack a punch! She has been a staple pick at almost every ELO since her release, and regardless of how simple her kit might seem, she can be one of the most effective champions to climb with in the Mid Lane.
If you are looking for a quick main to pick up, that teaches you the basics of the game, Annie is your girl, so everything you need to know to get going is right here in this article.
Annie’s abilities in League of Legends
Passive: Pyromania

Annie generates up to four stacks when using her abilities, and at the fourth she becomes Energized.
Once Energized, Annie’s next damaging ability stuns the enemy for up to 1.75 seconds based on level, meaning she can put pressure on enemies whenever her stuns are up.
These are a great way to get lane priority, as if an enemy is worried about getting point-and-click stunned or hit by a huge AOE teddy bear stun, they’re bound to play a lot more reserved.
Q: Disintegrate

One of the simplest abilities in the whole of League of Legends, Annie’s Q is a point-and-click fireball that refunds 50% of the cooldown and 100% of the mana Annie used to cast it if she kills the target.
This is perfect for helping newer players to League of Legends farm well and last hit minions with ease. This has a large range of 625 too, meaning she can safely use her Q out of the auto attack range of most champions in the game.
W: Incinerate

Annie fires a small cone of fire forward, which deals magic damage to anything hit. This is good at whittling down a large wave, to be last hit by her Q, but it can also be great for stunning both the enemy Mid Laner and enemy Jungler when you are getting ganked.
The cooldown of this ability stays at 8 seconds at all ranks without ability haste, however, so be careful of using this carelessly.
E: Molten Shield

Annie gives herself or any ally she targets a shield which scales with her AP, as well as up to 50% movement speed based on her level. It will also shield Tibbers too!
This also acts as an AP version of thornmail or bramble vest as enemies that deal damage to the target surrounded by Annie’s Molten Shield take magic damage for the first hit that they land.
The best use of this ability is for getting a stack of Annie’s Passive, meaning she can get her stun off quicker. You can also use this to get a surprise speed boost to get in range of landing your stun.
R: Summon: Tibbers

The pinnacle of Annie’s kit is summoning her teddy bear, Tibbers. Once summoned, he deals a large amount of AOE magic damage whenever Annie places him, and then he can be controlled for the 45 seconds he is alive.
This means The Dark Child can recast the ability to target a specific champion, minion, or even objective. Whilst the cooldown is 100 seconds at max rank, with ability haste you can get this down to around a minute, which means by late game, you will have Tibbers almost every fight!
We recommend combining Summon: Tibbers with your stun from your Passive, as getting a huge AOE stun in the middle of the enemy team at the beginning of a teamfight almost guarantees a win for you.
When was Annie released in League of Legends?

Released in the same Patch as champions such as Ashe, Annie came out on February 21, 2009, which was the second week of the League of Legends Alpha.
Interestingly, Annie is one of the few champions to have her final champion name as her title in the Alpha, with champions such as Ashe being called Bowmaster, and Twisted Fate being called Cardmaster.
Where is Annie from in League of Legends?

You’d be surprised to learn that Annie is actually from Noxus, or specifically the Ironspike Mountains on the Northern border of Noxus. Whilst we don’t know where Annie currently resides, we do know it is somewhere within Noxus.
Annie’s Age in League of Legends

Annie is one of the youngest, if not the youngest champion in League of Legends, being born in 988 AN, and being just 9 years old!
Of course, Annie was released in 2009, so technically she would be 23 now, but we don’t talk about that.
Annie’s Voice Actor in League of Legends

Annie’s voice actress is Cristina Milizia, who is an American voice actress who actually voices a few other champion in League of Legends.
She also voices Amumu and voiced Nunu before his rework into Nunu and Willump.
Who are Annie’s counters?
Annie has trouble against champions who stay far away and deal damage from a distance. Xerath, Ziggs, and Vel'Koz can poke her without letting her get close. They control the lane and keep Annie from using her combo.
She also struggles against mobile champions. LeBlanc, Ahri, and Kassadin can dodge her stun and burst her before she reacts. These matchups are hard for Annie because she cannot escape or move quickly.
Champions like Orianna and Syndra also make the lane hard for Annie. They push waves faster and zone her with better range. Annie needs to get close to use her abilities, but these champions can stop her before she gets a chance.
Why does no one play Annie anymore?
Annie’s play rate is low because her kit feels too simple compared to newer champions. Many players prefer champions with dashes, combos, or more active skills. Annie has strong burst, but her lack of mobility makes her easy to punish.
In the current meta, long-range mages and fast-moving assassins are common. They can beat Annie in lane or avoid her stun in fights. Once she falls behind, it becomes hard for her to make a comeback.
Even though Annie can still win games, she does not fit well into many team setups. Players often choose other champions who offer more tools and better matchups. This is why she shows up less often in ranked games.
