According to today’s announcement, the grand finalists of FGC - Act 1, Attacking Soul Esports and EDward Gaming have qualified for VCT 2023 - Masters Tokyo. The Chinese teams will represent their regions in Japan against the best teams in other regions.

Last year, EDward Gaming won the VCT 2022 - East Asia Last Chance Qualifier trophy to book a ticket to İstanbul, Turkey. EDG became the first Chinese team to qualify for a major international tournament in the VALORANT scene, and at the beginning of this year, two Chinese teams were granted spots in VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo.

EDward Gaming and Attacking Soul Esports reached this split’s grand final and battled against each other to lift the trophy. EDG are known as the most dominant team in the region, but surprisingly, ASE fought until the end to clinch the deal. Both teams completed their group runs undefeated, but ASE lost a series in the playoffs and continued their way from the lower bracket. The grand final game gave fans everything they needed, as teams played five games, and the last map ended 13-11.

Zheng "ZmjjKK" Yongkang is not only the leader of EDG but the whole region, as he always had an insane rating. He is currently sitting at a 1.32 rating and 1.36 K/D and is known for his Jett. On the other side, Qu "Life" Donghao, who used to play for EDG, stands out with a 1.17 rating and a 1.23 K/D.
