As you are aware, we are partnered with the Pulse Invitational to make sure you all are provided the fastest updates on scores and statistics. With that being said, we have received a few updates that include a new event date and the official format of the tournament. This update also introduces the charity cause behind the event, which will be explained further in the article.

The event will now be held on July 10th-12th, 2020. The tournament will be made up of two stages, a group stage and then playoffs. There will be four groups, and each group will have four teams. During the group stage, all the matches will be best of one, and the top two teams will advance to the playoff stage. Once the teams make it to the playoff stage every match will be the best of three games to see who will come out on top.

With all that being said, the United Way of New York, who is helping put on the tournament, wanted to remind fans and viewers that this is a charity event to support current events that are impacting the world around us. They call on viewers to take action against the racial injustices that have been committed against people of color. They also note that all the funds for this event will be devoted to this charity. In a quote directly from the sponsors, they proclaim that “UWNYC stands ready to continue the fight for racial equity and justice. We invite you to join us. In the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
