Report: G2 looking into big moves for Heretics, Acend players

According to a report by neLendirekt for 1pv, G2 Esports are looking at making major changes to their VALORANT team after failing to qualify for EMEA VCT 2021 - Stage 2 - Europe - Challengers Playoffs. The report specifically states that G2 have their eyes on various players from some of Europe’s top teams, Team Heretics and Acend.

According to neL, G2 are looking at removing 3 players from their squad - Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks, Patryk "paTiTek" Fabrowski, and Aleksander "zeek" Zygmunt, leaving Oscar Cañellas "m1xwell" Colocho and Jacob "pyth" Mourujärvi as the surviving members. In their place, it seems G2 are looking at players that have shown themselves on the biggest stages. Specifically mentioned are Heretics duo Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas and Auni "AvovA" Chahade, Acend Sova Jose Luis "koldamenta" Aranguren, and former LDLC, Vitality, and Cloud9 CS:GO player Alex “ALEX” McMeekin.

Of course, if some of these moves happen, there will be big knock-on effects. Heretics and Acend will both want to keep competing at the top of Europe, and will want to sign high-quality players themselves to put them in a situation like Fnatic to revitalize themselves and keep rising up the European ladder. Things will then knock on to the next team, and so on.

This is all clarified with big asterisks - Heretics and Acend don’t really want to let their established talent leave, and if G2 fail to sign their targets, more members of the current roster will probably be kept on. But when G2’s big money comes calling, few players refuse, so we’ll have to see where things go.
