The historic esports organization, T1, was one of the first to enter the VALORANT esports scene. Not only that, but they are also hosting the first-ever official VALORANT Ignition Series tournament in North America, the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers VALORANT Showdown. Although we haven’t seen enough competitive and official tournaments to rank international VALORANT teams accurately, T1’s roster is considered one of the best in the world. It is home to Braxton “Brax” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Larivière, Austin “crashies” Roberts, Victor “food” Wong, and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham.
Ranked mode hasn’t been out for even a day and we already have our first Radiant player, the renamed top VALORANT rank. Victor “food” Wong managed to achieve this impressive feat in just less than 17 hours after ranked went live. It just shows how strong T1 is going into the upcoming tournaments.
The player shared the achievement on his socials as well, placing Radiant straight out of placements. During VALORANT’s closed beta, we saw Cloud9’s Tyson “TenZ” Ngo become the first North American player to reach VALORANT, and it was quite the achievement. It is always memorable to the ones who get it first. So far, on both occasions, they were professional players.
This momentum is definitely needed going forward and heading into the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers VALORANT Showdown. How do you think T1’s VALORANT roster will fare in the upcoming tournament? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
