VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 1 finals to be held on LAN in Osaka

It has been announced that the playoff finals of VCT 2023 - Challengers League Japan - Split 1 are to be held in a LAN environement. The VALORANT Challengers event will be held at Intex Osaka Hall, Osaka, Japan, and run from March 18 to March 19.

Challengers Japan Split 1 LAN in Osaka details

For the first time ever, Osaka will host a LAN event of Riot Games' video game title, VALORANT. RAGE is the designated organizer of the tournament.

The VALORANT event kicked off on January 28 and runs through to March 19, with March 18 and 19 being the days when the play moves to the Intex Osaka Hall for the playoffs LAN event.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, February 10, with the ticket number being limited and sold on a first-come-first-served basis.

Format of the Challengers Japan playoffs

The placing of each team in the season stage will determine their placing in the playoffs bracket. The teams that place first and second will skip one round of play and begin the playoffs on day 2. From there, one team will advance straight to the grand final of the event. Round 3 and the grand final are the two matches that will be played on LAN.

There are 8 teams participating in the Challengers event in Japan. The event already kicked off with a regular season round-robin format. The tourney will then transition to the playoffs for the final two days of play.

Naim Rosinski

With the release of VALORANT, Naim saw potential in Riot Games’ take on a 5v5 competitive shooter and joined Run It Back as a writer. After 3 months, he got promoted to a Managing Editor, managing a team of contributors and held regular brainstorming meetings to get content pumping for 3 years straight. In that time he attended Masters Berlin 2021, as well as VALORANT Champions 2022 as press on-site press.

Now, Naim is a Content Manager & Editor at THESPIKE. He keeps tabs on news, features, and evergreen content production, as well as contributing himself from time to time.
