Unlike many RPG-style Roblox games where weapons are simply looted or purchased, The Forge allows players to create powerful, customized weapons using ores, skill-based forging, and smart resource management. Understanding how The Forge weapons work is essential if you want to progress efficiently and dominate both PvE and late-game content.

This The Forge guide explains how the weapons system works, the best weapons to craft, and the most effective weapon recipes.

How does The Forge weapons system work?

In The Forge, weapons are crafted at a forge station using ores collected from mining. The forge can be found in the main hub area and becomes a core part of gameplay early on.

To forge a weapon, players place a selected number of ores into the forge crucible. The total number of ores affects the weapon size (for example: dagger, sword, great sword, or colossal weapon), while the type and rarity of ores determine the weapon’s strength, multiplier, and special traits.

    Weapon class

    Weapon types

    Speed

    Damage

    Best use case

    Light Weapons

    Daggers, Gauntlets

    Very Fast

    Low–Medium

Best for early-game players, fast attacks, and mobility-focused playstyles.

    Medium Weapons

    Straight Swords, Katanas

    Fast

    Medium–High

Balanced choice for most players; strong damage with good speed. Katanas remain effective even in late game with the right recipe.

    Heavy Weapons

Great Swords, Great Axes, Colossal Swords

    Slow

    Very High

Late-game and end-game builds. These forge weapons deliver massive damage but require high-tier ores and slower attack timing.

The forging process includes small timing-based minigames such as heating, pouring, and hammering. While these do not change the recipe itself, performing them well ensures the forging succeeds and prevents wasted materials.

Once completed, the forge weapon receives:

    • A damage multiplier
    • Possible passive traits (burn, crit chance, explosion, etc.)
    • A weapon class based on ore count

These weapons can later be upgraded further using enhancements or runes.

What is the best The Forge weapon?

If forced to pick a single “best,” the consensus leans toward Skull Crusher (for highest damage / late-game) and Dragon Slayer (for raw power + relatively better speed) among colossal-class weapons.

But for many players — especially mid-game or resource-limited — balanced swords like Chaos are solid top-tier because they give flexibility and do not demand massive ore/crafting investment. Want to explore all? Keep reading…

How to upgrade your The Forge weapon

In The Forge, after you craft (forge) a weapon, you can improve it further via two main systems:

    • Enhancing (level-up + stats boost + rune-slots unlocking)
    • Enchanting (attaching runes for extra traits/effects).

Both systems work together and are essential for end-game progression.

    Enhancing weapons (Upgrading levels)

    • Take your weapon to the Enhancer NPC
    Credit: Cocajola Refill/Youtube
    Credit: Cocajola Refill/Youtube
    • Select the weapon you want to enhance
    • Pay the required gold and essences
    • Attempt the enhancement

    Each successful enhancement:

    • Increases weapon damage (and sometimes quality)
    • Raises the weapon’s enhancement level
    • Unlocks rune slots at higher levels

Enhancement levels allow weapons to be upgraded multiple times, increasing their power as you progress. Early enhancements have a high success rate, but higher levels become increasingly risky.

Enhancing is never guaranteed. If an attempt fails, the weapon may lose an enhancement level and even a rune slot if one was unlocked. Because of this risk, most players only enhance weapons they plan to use long-term rather than temporary or early-game gear.

Rune slots are unlocked automatically as you enhance a weapon. Once a rune slot is unlocked, the weapon can be enchanted.

    Enchanting weapons (Using runes)

    • Make sure your weapon has a rune slot
    • Visit the Runemaker NPC
    Credit: EJHWAY/Youtube
    Credit: EJHWAY/Youtube
    • Select your weapon
    • Choose a rune from your inventory
    • Attach the rune (small gold fee)

Runes can be removed and reused, so you don’t permanently lose them.

Don’t forget these 4 things about The Forge weapons

    1. If you’re new or mid-game: aim for Rare or Legendary (small-ore recipe). They cost fewer ores and still give decent boosts.
    2. If you’re preparing for late-game / bosses: farm high-tier ores (Fireite, Magmaite, Darkryte, Galaxite, Demonite) and go for Mythical or Divine recipes for maximum damage & traits.
    3. For best consistency: try to stack similar ores (e.g. all Fireite + Magmaite + Darkryte) to increase chance for desirable traits (burn, AoE, explosion).
    4. Always consider weapon class: if you prefer speed and agility — Katana or straight-sword class; if you prefer heavy-hitting power — Great Axe, Colossal Sword, Great Sword class.

For beginners, simple rare weapons are enough. For experienced players, mythical and divine forge weapons become the key to dominating late-game content. Learning the right recipes and understanding how ores affect weapon outcomes is the difference between an average build and a top-tier one.
