How to complete the Goblin King quest in The Forge: All you need to know
The Forge has achieved a huge success in the past months, and now players are grinding their way to be the best in the game by completing quests. One of those quests in The Forge that looks hard at first but is actually pretty easy is the Goblin King quest. This guide explains what the quest is, how to start it, what each step costs, and how to farm the rare gems without wasting hours!
What is the Goblin King quest in The Forge?
The Goblin King questline works like a five-step “pay gate.” You bring the Goblin King increasing amounts of gold and rare gems, and he unlocks the next area only after your final turn-in.
The Forge launched as a Roblox blacksmith RPG, and guides cite a beta release date of November 26, 2025. The Goblin King content sits inside the core progression that players access after they reach the Forgotten Kingdom.
You also see periodic weekend boosts and code windows, which can make gem farming easier during specific dates and times.

Before you start: Requirements and where to start the Goblin King quest
You must meet these conditions before the game lets you reach the Goblin King:
- Reach Level 10
- Progress through Sensei Moro’s questline to unlock the Forgotten Kingdom portal access.
After you enter the Forgotten Kingdom, walk through town and look for a guarded camp close to the local NPC shops. Several guides place the Goblin King camp near utility NPCs such as enhancers and rune-related vendors.

Here is a quick preparation checklist before you start the quest:
- Bring inventory space for gems and spare ores
- Save gold before you start, so you avoid backtracking
- Plan a pickaxe upgrade path before the final step
All Goblin King quest steps and total cost
The Goblin King gives five quests total, and you pay $75,000 across the full chain.
Use this checklist to track progress in order:
- $5,000 gold (some versions also ask for 1 Gold ore)
- $10,000 gold + 3 Topaz
- $15,000 gold + 5 Diamonds
- $20,000 gold + 5 Emeralds
- $25,000 gold + 5 Rubies
How to get Topaz, Diamonds, and Emeralds
Most players farm Basalt Core rocks for Topaz, Diamonds, and Emeralds, then turn in gems in batches with the required gold.
You deal with low odds, so you need realistic expectations:
- Topaz: 1/143
- Diamond: 1/192
- Emerald: 1/363
Best time-saving habits
- Use luck boosts during dedicated gem sessions. Many guides recommend luck items to raise rare drop chances.
- Mine with intent. If you do not chase a target gem, you burn time and fill your inventory with low-value ore.
How to get Rubies for the final step
Rubies drop from Basalt Veins, not Basalt Cores, and Basalt Veins require stronger tools.
Here is the requirement that matters:
- Basalt Vein nodes need 78 damage capability before they break.
- Ruby drop rate sits around 1/487 in common community references.
A widely used upgrade for this step is the Mythril Pickaxe, which multiple guides list at $67,500 in the Forgotten Kingdom pickaxe shop.
Rewards and what the Goblin Cave includes
After you finish the final turn-in, you get a strong XP payout and a key that unlocks the Goblin Cave door near the Goblin King’s area.

Inside the Goblin Cave, you get:
- New mineable resources
- Combat encounters such as slimes
- Progress toward Tomo’s Lost Cat path, which sends you into the cave to recover the cat

If you chase Tomo’s Lost Cat, guides describe a clear landmark route inside the cave, which uses a bridge and a waterfall, then a hidden wall path.
