What is Darkryte ore in The Forge?

Darkryte is a Mythical ore that sits in the top tier of The Forge’s ore system. It combines three things:

• Very low drop chance
• High 6.3× forge multiplier
• A strong defensive trait on armor

When you use enough Darkryte in an armor recipe, the armor gains a 15% chance to completely avoid an incoming hit. This effect works like a “shadow dodge” and prevents the damage from that attack. 

Darkryte also changes the look of your gear. Weapons and armor forged with it take on a dark, shadow-like appearance with a subtle glow, which many players treat as a cosmetic bonus alongside the stats. 

In the current rarity ladder, Darkryte is one of the rarest obtainable ores, beaten mainly by Arcane and Galaxite but still far above most legendary ores.

Where to find Darkryte ore (Volcanic Depths route)

Darkryte only drops from Volcanic Rocks in the Volcanic Depths area of the Forgotten Kingdom. You cannot get it from Basalt Rocks, Basalt Veins, or other rock types.

Route to Volcanic Depths:

1. Unlock and enter the Forgotten Kingdom (usually via the Portal Tool).
2. Go to the Ruined Caves entrance.
3. From the entrance, take the right path and follow the route with the “DANGER” banner.
4. Continue until you reach the NPC Amber.
5. Next to Amber, break the Basalt Vein that blocks a hole. You need a pickaxe with enough Mine Power for this.
6. Drop through the hole to enter the Volcanic Depths, where Volcanic Rocks spawn.

In the Volcanic Depths, look for rocks with a molten lava animation. These Volcanic Rocks are the only source of Darkryte.

How to get Darkryte in The Forge

You get Darkryte by breaking Volcanic Rocks in the Volcanic Depths and relying on RNG.

Basic checklist before you farm:

• Access to Forgotten Kingdom
• Portal Tool unlocked (for fast travel)

Farming loop:

1. Fast travel to the Forgotten Kingdom and enter Ruined Caves.
2. Follow the route to Volcanic Depths using the steps above.
3. Clear or dodge enemies near Volcanic Rocks.
4. Break every Volcanic Rock in the area.
5. Reset the route or server once rocks and spawns are gone.
6. Repeat the loop until you collect enough Darkryte.

How to increase your Darkryte drop chance

You cannot change the base Darkryte rate, but you can raise your effective chance with luck bonuses.

Main luck sources:

• Luck Potions: Bought with in-game currency, cheaper for Goblin race.
