After failing to participate in the top-flight franchise league, Acend are going to try their luck in VCT 2023: Challengers League East: Surge Split 1. Today, the organization introduced their new roster including five new players alongside MONSTEERR, who was on the previous lineup. baddyG, Alive, musashi, Br0die, and the sixth man B3ASTM0D3. Additionally, Nbs will continue his coaching duties for the team.

Despite being the first-ever VALORANT World Champions, Acend had significant ups and downs throughout the 2022 season. The organization made multiple roster changes and failed to attend any international event. At the end of the year, they also lost their spot in the highest EMEA division as they were not one of the accepted candidates for the new partnership model. Lastly, we have seen them compete overseas at the Superdome tournament and the roster disbanded after the event. The organization continued their work on building a new roster for the VCT 2023 Challengers East: Surge tourney and the official announcement released on January 10.

Five new players

MONSTEERR is the only player that has been retained. Joining him is the head coach Nbs. baddyG had some great chances to show his capabilities last year and put on impressive performances starting with EMEA Stage 1 Challengers with FPX. To add to that, he won the VRL 2022 France: Revolution Stage 2 trophy and got the runner-up spot in VRL 2022 Finals. musashi has joined the team from BIG, who also has some tier-one experience. Br0die played for MAD Lions against baddyG’s Team Vitality in the France Revolution Grand Final. Fifth on the list, ALIVE was a member of the EXCEL roster that won the Polaris Stage 2 tournament last year. Rounding out the fresh team, B3ASTM0D3 will be the sixth man for the roster. He has significant experience after having played for some of the VRL teams last season.

Acend have put together a great talent pool and will start their journey in 2023 with:

Czech Republic Ondřej "MONSTEERR" Petrů Israel Gilad "ALIVE" Hakim Germany Alessio "musashi" Xhaferi United Kingdom Jack "Br0die" Emmott Poland Kamil "baddyG" Graniczka Costa Rica Ivan "B3ASTM0D3" Ledić

Lithuania Laurynas "Nbs" Kisielius (Coach)
