Ardiis looks to return to competitive play after a two-year break

VCT 2022 - Stage 2 - Masters Copenhagen winner Ardis "ardiis" Svarenieks is looking to make his return to competitive VALORANT after spending the last two years away from professional play. The Lithuanian player has remained active in the VALORANT scene during his break, mainly as a content creator and streamer, but his time away from competition has also come with its fair share of controversy, as he recently received a co-streaming suspension from Natus Vincere.

Despite remaining active in the VALORANT scene, ardiis' return might not be a guarantee, given that his reputation could signal the alarm for organizations looking to enter the revamped VCT 2027 landscape. Of course, it is never too late to correct course.

A career full of highs and lows

Ardiis made a name for himself during the early days of competitive VALORANT after joining FunPlus Phoenix in 2021. A year later, he and the team reached the top of the international scene, winning Masters Copenhagen 2022 alongside players such as Pontus "Zyppan" Eek, who recently joined the German team Eintracht Frankfurt.

Following his time in Europe, ardiis moved to North America to join NRG, where he almost won an Americas title, though the team ultimately fell against LOUD in the VCT 2023 - LOCK//IN Grand Finals. After his time in NA, he returned to EMEA with Natus Vincere, but he didn’t find great results before switching to content creation.

Recently, NAVI suspended ardiis from co-streaming after Riot Games banned the player for words he used while speaking about the Game Changers Circuit. Now ardiis is ready to compete again. While there are still no rumors about him, his experience could be useful for some teams, despite his controversial reputation.

Whether the return develops into a full VCT comeback or another opportunity in the wider competitive scene remains to be seen; for now, the former Masters champion is once again looking toward a professional VALORANT return.
