Brawk joins Sentinels for the 2027 season

Known as the “Odin demon,” Brock "brawk" Somerhalder is officially leaving NRG to join Sentinels. After spending a year with the team and winning the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions, the American player is ready to embark on a new chapter with another organization ahead of the 2027 season.

Brawk moves to Sentinels

There is no doubt that Sentinels are looking to build a superteam ahead of the 2027 season. Following the recent announcement of Francis "OXY" Hoang joining the roster, the organization has now confirmed brawk as its latest signing.

The American Initiator will make the move during the offseason as Sentinels continue to shape their lineup for the upcoming competitive year.

Brawk was one of the breakout players of 2025. In his debut year in Tier 1, he played a key role in helping NRG climb the regional rankings and return to the top of the Americas scene, something the organization had not achieved since 2023.

Although the team failed to secure a domestic title, brawk was a central figure in NRG's international success, helping them lift the VALORANT Champions 2025 trophy in Paris. He also earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at the tournament, capping off an impressive debut season on the international stage.

During the tournament, brawk became widely known for his Odin plays, which gave opposing teams plenty of trouble throughout the competition.

A year to remember

After spending several years competing in Tier 2, brawk finally got his opportunity at the highest level when NRG recognized his potential and brought him onto the roster. Although the team struggled to find its footing early in 2025, things eventually turned around. The American Initiator became one of NRG's key players on their way to lifting the VALORANT Champions 2025 trophy.

Following Sentinels' announcement, brawk also took the opportunity to thank NRG and its fans for their continued support throughout his time with the organization.

Hello guys. I wanted to clarify some things. This might seem like a surprise to some, but I have decided not to re-sign with NRG. This was probably one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make in esports.

I have been seeing all of the fan messages wanting our team to all stick together and run it back again but I have to do what I think is best in my heart. Sometimes you have a feeling deep down that it was the right move and that's what I'm feeling. We accomplished so much as a team and it really does suck to close this chapter, but life goes on.

Being a pro player sometimes requires very tough decisions and my goal as a player is to put myself in the best spots to win another trophy. If I believe this will be a better decision longterm I will always do it. I hope this helps clarify my decision even more and where I'm coming from.

I have nothing but love and respect for all my teammates, coaches, staff and wish everyone the best of luck going forward. NRG was the first partnered that took a chance on me so I will always be grateful for that opportunity I received. On to the next chapter, goodbye.
