Shane "Rawkus" Flaherty recently announced via a Tweet that he will no longer be coaching Sentinels and is currently LFT as a player.

Before venturing to coaching Sentinels in early November 2021, Rawkus was a core member of FaZe Clan. He competed for the team in several tournaments throughout the latter part of 2020, and the entirety of VCT 2021 until VCT 2021 - North America Last Chance Qualifier, the last tournament for the team. Gaining a spot at the event is an achievement of its own right since only the top 10 teams in the NA region were invited.

The TwitLonger attached to the original tweet states:

“Back on FaZe we were eliminated from LCQ, 2 days afterwards I had an opportunity to coach Sentinels for Champions, and I took that offer immediately without thinking twice or looking for other opportunities.”

Throughout 2021, Sentinels had proven, on several occasions, that they were the best North American team in VALORANT for a long time now even without a coach. However, they had recently placed 5th-8th in VCT 2021 - Stage 3 - Masters Berlin - Playoffs and were looking to refine their strategies and go the extra mile to prepare for VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021 and recruiting a coach seemed like the best option for the team.

It has been a total of three months since his appointment as coach, and even though the team did not score high in VCT 2021 - VALORANT Champions 2021, they were looking forward to acquiring Rawkus as a full-time coach for the team but certain ‘buyout complications’ prevented a deal being made between FaZe and Sentinels. Due to these issues, Rawkus has decided to momentarily postpone his coaching career and focus on competing as a player.

Despite being under FaZe contract, he mentioned that there were no “intentions from either side to be a part of the team again” and he is currently looking for a team as a player. With this change, Sentinels is once again competing in tournaments without the directions of a coach and are yet to announce a replacement.
