“I couldn't have done this with any other group” - EG supamen looks back on his journey with the team

There is nothing worse for a professional player than an elimination match that brings their season to an earlier end than expected. For Phat "supamen" Le, the loss against MIBR brought a wave of emotions as he reflected on his journey so far.

Following the defeat, the player spoke with THESPIKE about his performance, his journey with Evil Geniuses, and the strong bond he has built with the organization, which he considers a second family and credits for supporting him since he joined in 2024.

A game to remember

At 29 years old, supamen is one of the most experienced players on Evil Geniuses and is no stranger to high-pressure elimination matches. However, experience does not make these moments any easier. Against MIBR, supamen felt he was unable to do his part and bring out the best in his team.

THESPIKE: You've been in these situations before. What does experience actually change when you're sitting there one loss away from elimination?

Supamen: "I've been in this position so many times. When you're there facing elimination, I gave my all, but obviously there were still nerves. It's life or death. In that last map, my experience didn't come through for the younger guys. I should have been able to help everyone stay calm and composed. I feel like I failed to do my job."

A team that became family

THESPIKE: What's something about this run that you're actually proud of despite the ending?

I genuinely couldn't have done this with any other group of people. I'm so proud of everyone and how much work they put in day in, day out. After each win, after each loss, we come into the practice room and give 110% every single day. That's all I could really ask for, that everyone was so hungry to win. Honestly, it's not on any of them. This one was on me. They are definitely a second family to me, and I really appreciate everyone and their time.

Despite the loss and the pain, supamen remains the “proud uncle” of the EG family, as his teammates call him. For the younger players, his best advice is to keep being themselves, trust the process, and believe that success will eventually follow.

After all these years with the organization, he feels nothing but pride and gratitude for the memories he has created with everyone who has crossed his path.

I love everyone at EG. I've had exceptional teammates for the past three years. A lot has happened in these three years, but I feel like the guys I play with, I've known them for my whole life. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I was able to represent EG for the last three years, and I'm super appreciative and grateful for them trusting me.

Supamen joined Evil Geniuses in 2024, and since then, he and the organization have been inseparable. For him, the best memories are the moments spent together outside the game, where they got to know each other better and share their different cultures.

A lot of players have left, and I'm pretty much the last one standing from the original roster, so the amount of trust they have for me is something I'm truly appreciative of. My best memories are definitely all the times I've spent hanging out with the guys outside of the game. That's how I bond with my teammates. We go around, show each other our cuisines and our culture, and that's how we bond. Those are the memories I will hold forever.

What comes next?

For Evil Geniuses, the season has come to an end, but supamen assures that this is not the end of his career. For now, all he wants is to keep playing VALORANT.

THESPIKE: If you were to retire today, what would you want to dedicate yourself to next? Do you see yourself as a coach, maybe a full-time streamer?

Supamen: "I definitely don't see myself coaching anytime soon. I want to keep playing. But you know what, whatever happens, happens. I have my wedding coming up later this year. I think after that, I will just take it one step at a time."

VCT Americas 2026 Stage 2

The VCT Americas 2026: Stage 2 runs from August 13 to September 6. The teams will battle for a place at VALORANT Champions 2026, which is set to take place in Shanghai, China.

Before they can secure their spot at Champions, however, some teams will head to São Paulo, Brazil, for the final days of Stage 2, where they will also determine the stage winner.
