    Cloud9 vs Ghost Gaming

One of tournaments strongest teams, Cloud9 had a strong showing in the semi finals against Ghost Gaming. GG had recently announced their roster with additions of Brock "brawk" Somerhalder and [player7303]. Despite their better-looking roster, C9 were the superior side on this matchup.

With Erick "Xeppaa" Bach’s impressive performance, Cloud9 won the first map with a score of 13-6. The North American player had KAY/O in his hands, smurfing the opener with a 1.67 rating and 309 ACS. On the other side, Ghost Gaming’s new transfer brawk had rough times with Skye and ended the game with a 0.52 rating.

The second map was even more one-sided as C9 closed out the series with a 13-4 win on Ascent. Son "xeta" Seon-ho and Mitch "mitch" Semago carried their teams to the victory with 1.41 and 1.51 ratings respectively. GG’s Marki "NiSMO" Tayar didn’t have the best performance as he closed out the series with a 4-kill Sky performance, holding a 0.28 rating and 91 ACS.

    NRG Esports - Renegades

Both NRG and Renegades had to get past Built By Gamers and Built By Gamers Academy to qualify for the semi finals in the tournament. In their competition with each other, NRG Esports were the winners as they reached the Grand Finals with a 2-0 win over their opponents.

Daniel "eeiu" Vucenovic had a heroic Sova performance to have the lead in the first game of the series. He held a 1.52 rating and 287 ACS in the opener, securing the win for his team. NRG Esports had a better showing on both offence and defence. On the other sişde of the competition, Renegades’ Sova player Alexander "retrQ" Kadan tried everything he could but it wasn’t enough.

The second map was much more competitive as both teams had similar performances. NRG’s Jett, Sam "s0m" Oh secured 26 kills and helped his team with a 1.50 rating, 2 K/D. Even though the rounds were close, Renegades couldn’t get what they needed from Alexander "retrQ" Kadan and Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad. Both members played important roles throughout the series but they were behind their opponents score-wise.

Cloud9 and NRG Esports are going to face each other on January 24 at 18:00 EST. You can watch the game on Twitch and track the competition on the events page.
