Leviatán win VALORANT Masters London, etch their names in history
On the final day of VALORANT Champions Tour 2026 - Masters London 2026, fans witnessed one of the most extraordinary grand finals the game has ever produced. Leviatán completed a remarkable lower bracket run to defeat Paper Rex 3-2 in a thrilling five-map series, claiming their first-ever international trophy and making history for LATAM VALORANT in the process.
Leviatán's journey to the title was defined by adversity. Knocked into the lower bracket by Paper Rex in their very first playoff match, they refused to fold. They systematically dismantled Team Heretics, Xi Lai Gaming, Team Vitality, and EDward Gaming on their way back to the top, setting up a rematch with the team that had sent them to the brink of elimination. It was a run that demanded resilience at every turn—and Leviatán delivered each time.
Grand Finals: Five Maps, One for the Ages
Paper Rex came out swinging on Fracture. Six straight defensive rounds set the tone as they raced to a 10-2 lead at the half, eventually closing the map out 13-2. It was a dominant opening statement from the Pacific side. Leviatán, however, responded instantly on Split. After an even first half, they produced a near-flawless defensive performance to take the map 13-6 and level the series at 1-1.
Breeze swung momentum back toward Paper Rex. Leviatán had built a promising 8-4 halftime lead, but PRX launched a ferocious second-half comeback to claim the map 13-11. Leviatán steadied themselves on Ascent, where their retake game proved far superior, winning 13-10 and pushing the series to a deciding fifth map.
Lotus was where Leviatán truly entered a different level. Their attack half was suffocating, ending 11-1 and winning the pistol round to make it 12-1, they were a single round from glory. Paper Rex, never ones to go quietly, clawed back four consecutive rounds to inject a sliver of hope into the crowd. But Leviatán held their nerve and closed it out 13-5, winning the series 3-2 and lifting their first international trophy.
History Written in London
The magnitude of this victory stretches well beyond the scoreline.
- With an average team age of just 19.6 years, Leviatán are the youngest team to ever win an international VALORANT event.
- They become the first LATAM team to win a Masters trophy, with LOUD remaining the only other LATAM side to have claimed international glory.
- They join Sentinels as the only Americas organizations to win a Masters title, while also ending Pacific's stranglehold on the last five Masters trophies.
Bruno "Neon" Rodríguez was named the tournament's MVP. He was at the heart of it all, composed and consistent, and built for the biggest moments.
Leviatán's triumph at Masters London is a long-awaited moment for LATAM VALORANT. A group of teenagers, written off after their opening defeat, clawed through five elimination matches and a brutal grand finals to stand atop the world. They are young, they are hungry, and they have just proven they belong among the very best.
