Paper Rex sign invy to replace PatMen
The second chapter in the PatMen–Paper Rex saga has officially closed. Paper Rex have confirmed the signing of Jiggs Adrian "invy" Reyes from Team Secret, a move that had been rumored all throughout the offseason. The addition marks a new direction for the Pacific powerhouse as they prepare for the upcoming Partner Series - VALORANT Radiant International Invitational in Fuzhou, China.
A Familiar Role, a Fresh Face
Invy steps into the roster to replace Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza, bringing with him a similar player profile. Like his predecessor, invy is primarily known for his versatility across controller and initiator roles. Throughout the 2025 VCT season, he played mostly on Sova, Fade, and Gekko, while occasionally flexing to Duelists and Sentinels when needed.
While his time with Team Secret showcased individual brilliance, consistent success for the team remained elusive. The 2025 campaign was especially turbulent.
Team Secret finished dead last at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Kickoff, followed by another last place finish in VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Pacific Stage 1 with just one series win. Their most promising run came during the EWC VALORANT - Asian Champions League 2025: Pacific Qualifier, where they narrowly missed qualifying for the EWC VALORANT - Esports World Cup 2025 after a tight playoff loss against none other than Paper Rex.
Paper Rex's Chief Gaming Officer Harley “dsn” Örvall confirmed the rationale behind the move:
“As VALORANT matures beyond its 5th year, the VCT circuit is more competitive than ever, and we must evolve and iterate faster to achieve our goals... adding a seasoned player like invy to the PRX family allows us to upgrade our firepower.”
Paper Rex’s Updated Roster
Now with invy in the mix, Paper Rex's completed roster consists of:
- Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee
- Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto
- Ilya "something" Petrov
- Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie
- Jiggs Adrian "invy" Reyes
- Alex "alecks" Salle (Head Coach)
Invy has already started scrimming with the team's core and will make his debut at the Radiant International Invitational, running December 18-22. All eyes will be on Paper Rex to see whether this roster tweak can help them maintain their elite status in the Pacific region.
