Riot Games Korea and INVEN announce VALORANT Clan Battle

As the competition is becoming more and more serious with the official release of VALORANT, we are starting to hear more about the big tournaments being held in cooperation with Riot Games.

We have seen a lot of online events being hosted during the closed beta phase, but as none of them were officially linked to Riot Games, their value and importance are not as big as when it comes to those that are being held in cooperation with Riot.

After the Twitch Rivals: VALORANT Launch Showdown, which might be considered the biggest tournament since the game has been launched, we can agree on one point - it was not yet the fully professional event that everyone expects to see happening in the competitive scene.

Today we have reported about the first professional team from South Korea, Vision Strikers, but it’s not the end of the exciting news coming from that region. Also today, we have learned that the South Korean office of Riot Games has announced an official VALORANT event called Clan Battle which they will host in cooperation with INVEN, one of the biggest and oldest esports news portals in South Korea. This is officially the first professional event to be launched on the VALORANT esports scene.

Clan Battle will consist of four online events in total, that will take place every week. Based on the results, the teams will have a chance to advance to the main phase of the tournament, Clan Masters, that will be held in August this year.

The first event is scheduled for June 15th, 2020 at 3 PM KST and will be hosted on a first-come, first-served manner. 128 teams will have a chance to participate in the event.

There is currently no information available about the regulations, prize pool, or the structure of the tournament. All of the details will be provided by the organizers closer to the date of the start of the competition. However, it’s already being said that more than one team from the same organization or clan can take part in the Clan Battle tournament.
