T1 have secured their place in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Bangkok 2025 Grand Finals with a dominant 3-1 victory over EDward Gaming in the lower bracket finals. The South Korean squad avenged their earlier loss to EDG in the upper bracket semifinals and will now face G2 Esports for the championship title.

EDG had entered the match as tournament favorites, remaining unbeaten until their upper bracket finals clash with G2. However, after suffering a 2-0 loss to the EMEA squad, they found themselves in the lower bracket, where T1 awaited them with a vengeance.

T1’s Road to the Grand Finals

T1’s journey to the grand finals was anything but smooth. They barely survived the Swiss Stage, overcoming an elimination match in Round 2 before gaining momentum. In the playoffs, their first challenge was against Pacific first seed DRX, whom they stunned with a 2-0 sweep.

However, a 2-1 loss to EDG in the upper bracket semifinals forced them into the lower bracket. From there, they eliminated Europe’s first seed Team Vitality 2-1, setting up a rematch against EDG in the lower bracket finals. This time, T1 came prepared and executed their revenge perfectly.

    T1 3-1 EDG

    • Bind: T1 came out strong, winning nine consecutive rounds to take a 9-3 halftime lead. EDG attempted a second-half comeback but managed only one round before T1 closed out a dominant 13-4 victory.
    • Haven: EDG led 8-4 at halftime, but T1 turned the game around on defense. With a 9-2 second-half surge, the South Korean squad secured a 13-10 win, moving one step closer to the grand finals.
    • Fracture: EDG fought hard, leading 7-5 at halftime. T1 nearly sealed the series, but EDG forced overtime at 12-12 and prevailed 14-12.
    • Split: T1 led 7-5 at halftime before crushing EDG with six straight rounds, securing a 13-5 win and a 3-1 series victory to reach the grand finals.

T1’s Super Team Finally Lives Up to Expectations

T1 entered Masters Bangkok as the Pacific region’s #2 seed, having failed to overcome DRX in both the Winner’s and Grand Finals of their domestic tournament. But on the international stage, they finally proved their worth.

They are now the only #2 seed left in the tournament and have defeated every #1 seed they’ve faced so far. If they can complete their run with a victory over G2 Esports in the Grand Finals, T1 will have taken down every regional champion to claim their first international title.

What’s Next? The Grand Finals Await

With EDG eliminated in third place, T1 have secured at least a second-place finish and a minimum prize of US$120,000. However, their eyes are on the ultimate prize—a VALORANT Masters trophy.

Standing in their way is G2 Esports, a team that has already shown their ability to take down the tournament’s strongest contenders. The two teams will face off in a best-of-five Grand Finals showdown tomorrow (March 2).

Will T1 complete their dream run and win their first international title, or will G2 deny them at the final hurdle? One thing is certain—Masters Bangkok will end with an unforgettable grand finals.
