VALORANT Patch 11.07: Cypher fixes, better visuals, and a new custom mode
As the Grand Finals of VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions draws near, Riot Games has dropped Patch 11.07, bringing clarity-focused changes, important bug fixes, and teasing an all-new custom game mode that arrives on October 3. Here’s everything you need to know.
Agent Updates
- Cypher: A little gift for Cypher mains, his Spycam has been smoothed out by trimming away parts of its visual glitch effect. Previously, rapidly entering and exiting the camera could cause missed information. This adjustment ensures consistency so players aren’t at risk of overlooking crucial intel during tense rounds.
- Waylay: Waylay’s Convergent Paths ability received improved edge clarity. Players will now have a sharper understanding of its boundaries, making movement and dodging within its zone far less confusing.
Gameplay Systems Updates
Riot has made a sweeping update to ensure ability visuals and minimap information are consistent across the board.
- Teal Color Coding: Abilities that can be placed and then reactivated - like Chamber’s Trademark, Killjoy’s Nanoswarm, and Yoru’s Gatecrash, among others - now share a distinctive teal tint for stronger visual recognition. This standardization should make it easier to quickly distinguish such utility across different Agents.
- Controllable Utility & Drones: Drones and controllable abilities now offer directional clarity and color-coded icons on the minimap. This includes Sova’s Owl Drone, Skye’s Trailblazer and Seekers, Raze’s Boom Bot (now newly tracked), Fade’s Prowler, Gekko’s Wingman and Thrash, and Tejo’s Stealth Drone. Icon updates also reflect whether these abilities are actively seeking enemies.
Modes Updates
A mysterious new mode will go live exclusively in Customs on October 3. Riot teased that more information will arrive during Champions Finals weekend, leaving fans speculating whether this could be a limited-time twist or a completely new competitive format. The only way to try it will be by creating a custom lobby with friends.
Bug Fixes
Patch 11.07 irons out lingering issues that have pestered players over the past few weeks:
- Chamber’s Headhunter recoil timing has been corrected, eliminating an unintentional faster recovery.
- Brimstone’s Orbital Strike map icon now disappears in sync with its zone of effect instead of sticking around longer.
- Raze’s hair flicker during Agent select has been fixed.
- Phoenix’s Blaze will no longer shatter Ascent glass when it shouldn’t.
Meanwhile, Riot has also addressed most instances of the invisible Agents bug, although reports may still occur in rare cases.
PC-Exclusive Updates
On PC, “Show Replay UI” and “Show Cursor” now properly toggle off when the interface is hidden during replay mode. Riot also noted an upcoming Premier update, requiring teams using VCT team names/tags to change them ahead of official VCT branding integration in a future patch.
Known Issues
Some problems remain unsolved:
- Replay bugs with Fade’s Nightfall muffling audio until the client restart.
- A minor Premier UI issue when hovering over offline players.
- Occasional crashes during Agent Select, fix slated for Patch 11.08. Patch 11.07 may not be as sweeping as past updates, but its changes aim at improving clarity and competitive fairness just in time for the biggest weekend of the year.
