Organizations around the world are forming their VALORANT rosters, from 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan to Warthox Esport and Oxygen Supremacy. Everyone from the east to the west wants to compete in the growing VALORANT esports scene. The latest to join are Vodafone Giants. They were founded in 2008, and have teams competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, FIFA, Fortnite, and Rainbow Six: Siege. Their League of Legends team recently lifted the LVP SuperLiga Orange 2020 Spring title as well.

Vodafone Giants’ plans for their VALORANT roster is to dominate the Spanish esports scene, while competing for international recognition and achievements. The confirmed players are Lucas “HITBOX” González-Sabariegos, Salvador “Yurii” Gasco, Francesc “donQ” Savall, Rodolfo “StarWraith” Barrientos and Adolfo “Fit1nho” Gallego. The entire team has an extensive history of playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and want to make the transition to Riot Games’ tactical shooter.

Two players, StarWraith and HITBOX, played together before under the name ClickBaiters to win the second week of the LVP King of the Beta title during VALORANT’s closed beta. HITBOX is familiar with donQ as well, since they played together on x6tence, KPI and Movistar Riders during their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive careers.

Vodafone Giants are putting their faith into the youthful talents of Fit1nho and Yurii to benefit from the roster’s experience, and continuously improve their performances. Their main Agents are Sova and Sage respectively, so we will probably see Yurii on support duty most of the time. In fact, we saw Yurii before on Team ANGE1 during the G2 Esports Invitational, finishing in third place.

Vodafone Giants’ Head of Gaming Operations, David “Lozark” Alonso stated in the official announcement: “We want to lay the foundations for our future in this video game and there is no better way than to unite the young and veteran talent of Spain”. The remaining statement was expressing the organization’s entrance to VALORANT was encouraged through the “security offered by entering a Riot game, which is synonymous with good work and the future.” This is definitely apparent in Vodafone Giants’ strong commitment to League of Legends, another Riot Games’ title, which shows how far the studio can take a game’s esports scene.

What do you think of Vodafone Giants’ roster? Do you think the mix of veteran and young talent is the way to go if you want to build a strong VALORANT competitive squad? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!

Current Vodafone Giants roster consists of:
