Wolves Esports has secured a capital investment from Chongqing Lvfa Industrial Group to accelerate the development of its esports infrastructure in China. Announced on June 18, the partnership supports Wolves' long-term vision to build a €23 million home venue in Chongqing, marking a significant milestone in the club’s rapid evolution since its founding in 2018.

The investment will fund two key initiatives: the construction of a state-of-the-art arena in Chongqing’s Bishan district and the development of a digital esports ecosystem. According to Wolves Esports, the funds will enhance competitive performance, bolster branding, and create new commercialization pathways.

A New Cultural and Competitive Hub

At the heart of this initiative is the construction of a 10,000-square-meter esports venue, with a reported cost of ¥200 million (~€23 million). The venue will seat up to 2,000 spectators and is slated for completion by late 2025. Far more than just a stadium, the project aims to become a cultural and social landmark in Chongqing, helping to establish the region as a key node in China’s booming esports industry.

The move deepens Wolves’ presence in Bishan, where they have already operated a temporary home venue since 2023, hosting over 130 offline events and drawing close to 200,000 attendees. The club's existing success, including a record-breaking Honor of Kings run and a Top 3 finish at VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Masters Toronto 2025, has made them a prominent force in Chinese and global esports.

Building a Digital Ecosystem with Local Backing

Chongqing Lvfa Industrial Group’s investment will also be channeled into team development and ecosystem building. “This round of financing will focus on upgrading the team system and building an e-sports digital economy ecosystem,” the company said in a statement.

Fosun Sports, which owns both Wolves Esports and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, has spearheaded the club’s aggressive expansion in China. Deng Houjun, President of Fosun Sports, noted that the move strengthens their “esports + city” model.

“We aim to merge professional operations with digital content and urban industry to make Wolves Esports a globally influential brand.”

With infrastructure development, competitive milestones, and strong state support, Wolves Esports is poised to not only grow its own brand but also to help redefine Chongqing’s cultural and economic landscape.
