League of Legends, the popular MOBA game, boasts a massive collection of character skins, offering players diverse appearances for their champions and in-game elements. Over the game's decade-long history, the assortment of skins has grown significantly, providing an extensive selection for players to choose from.

In the League universe, players encounter a broad variety of choices, including themed "skinlines" like the lively pool party collection. The game continually introduces new skins, particularly for well-liked champions such as Ahri, who have amassed multiple skins, adding to the game's appeal.

How many skins are in League of Legends?

Alongside the primary skins, there are chromas, which provide slight color adjustments to existing skins. However, these chromas are not counted as individual skins. As of November 2023, there are a whopping 1,604 skins, and this number continues to grow as Riot Games releases new character variants.

Riot Games also announces certain skin lines for certain champions, like “Heartsteel," which came out on November 9, 2023 alongside the LoL Patch 13.22. Sett, K’Sante, Ezreal, Yone, Aphelios, Kayn. The League of Legends Heartsteel skin line introduces a total of seven skins, with Yone receiving a Prestige version and Kayn obtaining a Legendary skin.

Here's the breakdown of the lineup:

    • Heartsteel Kayn: Legendary skin
    • Heartsteel Aphelios: Epic skin
    • Heartsteel Ezreal: Epic skin
    • Heartsteel K’Sante: Epic skin
    • Heartsteel Sett: Epic skin
    • Heartsteel Yone: Epic skin
    • Prestige Heartsteel Yone: Mythic

Consequently, all the Epic skins will be available for the standard cost of 1350 RP. However, Kayn's Legendary skin will be priced around 1820 RP. Additionally, players can acquire the Prestige Yone skin for 2000 Event Tokens.

What are League of Legends skins?

In League of Legends, a skin refers to a different appearance or color scheme for a champion. Players can purchase these skins from the in-game Riot Store using Riot Points (RP). While most skins are available for purchase, some are limited-time offers, and a few are entirely unattainable after their initial release.

Each skin comes with its unique model, splash art, and, in some cases, different effects and voice-overs, making them more exclusive and, consequently, more expensive. Chromas, on the other hand, offer only color changes to existing skins.

Chromas are available for purchase in the Riot Store, each priced at 290 RP. Additionally, bundled options provide a reduced price when bought with the corresponding champion or skin.

Twice a year, the Essence Emporium event allows players to buy cosmetics using Blue Essence, including exclusive items and those usually available only for RP, such as Chromaskins. This event provides an opportunity to acquire these items, replacing the earlier bi-annual Chroma IP Sales.

    League of Legends skin prices

Riot Games introduces around twelve new skins each month, featuring different levels of detail and uniqueness. These skins fall into four price categories, ranging from basic to highly detailed options.

The breakdown of prices is as follows:

    • Regular skins: Priced at 975 RP or less
    • Epic skins: Available for 1,350 RP
    • Legendary skins: Priced at 1,820 RP
    • Ultimate skins: The most detailed and elaborate, costing 3,250 RP

Several skins are not available due to limited-time releases or specific rewards. Some are obtainable only through gemstones, while others might be seasonal releases. Nevertheless, League of Legends offers a wide variety of skins to cater to various player preferences.

How much would it cost to buy every League of Legends skin?

League of Legends has over 2,100 skins in 2025. If you want to buy every skin in the shop, you would need around 1.7 million Riot Points. That means you would spend nearly $ 10,000.

You can also get some skins through loot boxes, event rewards, or crafting. Still, the total price for each skin reveals the amount of content the game has added over the years.

What is the rarest League skin?

Some skins are rare because Riot released them only once. They are currently not available in the store. Here are three of the rarest ones:

    • PAX Twisted Fate came out in 2009 during a game event. Only people at that event got it.
    • PAX Jax came out in 2010 at the same event.
    • PAX Sivir followed in 2011 and completed the set.

Another one is Black Alistar. You can no longer obtain these skins. They are not in loot boxes or events. That makes them some of the rarest in the game today.
