100 Thieves sweep C9 to win Red Bull Home Ground

The North American team, 100 Thieves have concluded their run at VCT 2022 OFF SEASON - Red Bull Home Ground 2022 by winning the trophy while losing only two maps throughout the tournament. The organization took down Team Heretics, Team Liquid, FUT Esports, and Team Vitality before reaching the grand final. In the battle of two North American teams, 100T swept Cloud9 to lift the trophy. Only Heretics and Liquid managed to steal a map from the organization.

Cloud9 picked Bind to start things off in Manchester. 100T had a slight advantage after the first half as they were up 7-5. The first half was a battler between bang and Zellsis. However, the 18-year-old Brimstone had an unstoppable performance when the sides were changed for the second half. He held a 2.26 rating on defense and 1.79, in general, to help his team win the first game of the series. He grabbed 31 kills and had a 41% HS rate. Zellsis and yay tried to stop him but their efforts weren’t enough.

100 Thieves’ pick of the day was Fracture. This time, there was a tie after the first half. Cryo played an important role on defense with a 1.76 rating and five first bloods on Chamber. 100 Thieves had a better attacking performance in the second half and they won the second map with a score of 13-9. Xeppaa didn’t have the best performance as he finished the game with a 0.34 rating. On the other side, Cryo’s high performance continued for the side of 100 Thieves as the Chamber player finished the game with a 2.44 K/D.

Lastly, C9 picked Icebox but they only won three rounds until the end of the game. 100 Thieves had a very dominant performance in the last map to complete the sweep. Asuna’s Fade was very effective with 20 kills and a 1.80 rating. C9 looked lost on Icebox and they eventually lost the map without winning a single round on the attacking side.
