Since the inception of the VALORANT Champions Tour format, the Champions event has garnered a reputation as the most prestigious event of the year, and rightfully so. VCT Champions serves as the culmination of a year-long journey for countless esports organizations worldwide, with top teams from all corners of the globe vying for the coveted title of world champion. It is the pinnacle of the competitive VALORANT scene, and a must-watch for any VALORANT enthusiast.

KIA Forum to host VCT Champions Grand Finals

The VCT Champions event was conducted in Berlin during the 2021 season, and more notably in Istanbul during 2022 where the infamous Brazilian team, LOUD, defeated the NA Challengers, OpTic Gaming, in front of a sold-out arena and an online audience of more than 1.5 million viewers in a thrilling 3-1 match to earn their rights to the throne. As the first event of 2023, LOCK IN, drew to a close, Riot Games seized the opportunity to announce Los Angeles as the venue for the highly-anticipated Champions event. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first VALORANT Champions Tour LAN event to be held in North America.

VCT Champions 2023 will commence on August 6 with the opening rounds of the event being held at the Shrine Auditorium where 12 of the 16 participating teams will be eliminated, whereas the remaining four will proceed to the largest capacity venue in the history of VALORANT esports at the iconic Kia Forum to compete for the title of World Champions 2023. Kia Forum will be host to these 4 teams across three days of competition with the grand finals being held on August 26.

Following the exhilarating conclusion of LOCK IN, teams will embark on a grueling regular season, where they will compete in their respective regional competitions, including the Americas, PACIFIC, and EMEA leagues. The teams will have the opportunity to earn a spot in the coveted Masters Tokyo event, which will serve as a stepping stone to the ultimate goal of qualifying for the prestigious Champions event in Los Angeles.
