After a one-sided grand final series, EDward Gaming qualified for VCT 2022 - Champions Istanbul to represent East Asia and be the only Chinese team in the tournament.

    FGC International

China had its own VALORANT circuit in the region and many well-known teams competed in the tournaments to reach the international stage. In the first tournament, FGC Invitational 2022 - Act 1, EDward Gaming had a great run. Starting with the Group Stage, the Chinese team won all their matches and finished their group without a single loss, 5-0. EDG qualified for playoffs but they failed to take down Team Weibo in the Upper Bracket Final. However, the team did not give up and defeated FunPlus Phoenix ZHUQUE to face Weibo once again but this time for the trophy. Once again, Weibo were the victorious side as they won the series in style, 3-1.

The first event was done and now it was time for the second tournament, FGC Invitational 2022 - Act 2. This time, EDG lost a game in the Group Stage and finished the group right after FunPlus Phoenix. Despite winning the first round, they failed to get past NTER and continued their way from the Lower Bracket. EDward Gaming made the miracle run possible and reached the Grand Finals after taking their revenge from NTER in the Lower Bracket Final. After a very close Grand Finals series, EDG took KONE down with a score of 3-2 and won their first championship of the circuit. With the result, they took home a prize of 140 points.

The last tournament of the season for Chinese teams was FGC Invitational 2022 - Act 3. EDward Gaming had another successful Group Stage performance with three wins and one loss. The playoff stage was also a lot better for them as this time they reached the Grand Final without being demoted to the Lower Bracket. EDG took down NTER, the leader of the other group Tales of Eastern, and KONE. Finally, they took down KONE once again and lifted the second trophy in the third tournament. EDG won 200 FGC points and secured first place on the leaderboard.

    East Asia Last Chance Qualifier

The competition began from the Upper Bracket Quarter Final for EDward Gaming. Their first opponent was On Sla2ers and without facing any problems, they swept On Sla2ers to make a solid start to the first international tournament. Secondly, they swept REJECT to reach the Upper Bracket Final. EDward Gaming looked dominant against REJECT on Fracture after winning the map with a score of 13-3. After a very close competition against NORTHEPTION, EDward Gaming became the first Grand Finalist of the tournament. In the last stage of the competition, they faced On Sla2ers once again and the result did not change. The Chinese team completed the sweep without wasting any time and won the trophy to qualify for İstanbul. Interestingly, EDward Gaming did not lose a single map throughout the tournament.
