The VALORANT esports scene benefited tremendously from Riot Games’ Ignition Series partnership program. It provided tournament organizers with the exposure, guidance, and the competitive environment for VALORANT professionals to build their careers. We have seen them get bigger and better, with the studio fulfilling its promise of covering as many regions as possible. However, South Korea in particular haven’t gotten much attention from Riot Games and are yet to receive their own Ignition Series tournament.

The only significant event held so far in Korea was when the South Korean office of Riot Games announced an official VALORANT event called Clan Battle which INVEN hosted. During Don’t Peek Entertainment’s VALORANTING podcast with VALORANT Esports Strategy Lead, Kasra Jafroodi, we got to hear what the studio has in store for Korea. Riot Games plan on giving the Korean region its own Ignition Series with “big partners” to grow their VALORANT competitive scene.

Regions outside of Europe and North America haven’t failed to surprise us so far, with Latin America, MENA, and Japan providing us with exciting VALORANT action. The latter especially proved to be a host for a booming and incredibly talent rich region with the RAGE VALORANT JAPAN INVITATIONAL and the upcoming RAGE VALORANT JAPAN TOURNAMENT. The RAGE VALORANT JAPAN TOURNAMENT will feature a ¥5,000,000 JPY prize pool, which equates to a little over $46,000 USD or €41,400 EUR.

Jafroodi had already discussed the possibility of holding VALORANT’s first LAN event in Europe, specifically Katowice, Poland, for its cultural and historical significance in the first-person shooter esports universe.

What other regions do you want to see supported more with Ignition Series tournaments? Do you think Europe and North America have a lead on other regions with their strong VALORANT esports scene? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
