LOUD and NRG to battle in the Semifinals of VCT LOCK IN Alpha bracket
W Team
In the first match of the day, we had NRG facing off against GIANTX, in an exciting series. The EMEA team started off strong on their opponents' map pick, Lotus. They managed to win several rounds in a row, with a good performance from Adolfo "Fit1nho" Gallego, and finished the first half with a score of 8-4. However, as Defenders, they did not perform as well. The NA team showed good mental strength and executed their strategies with mastery, with some rounds even featuring great individual performances. The match went into overtime and ended quickly with NRG's cool heads, 14-12.
The second map of the series, Haven, was the Giants' pick and was an atypical case. The score at the quick series went 13-1 for NRG. There is not much to comment on, as it was a match in which only one side played, with the European team being largely absent throughout the map and not presenting anything to surprise their opponent with.
In the decisive map, Icebox, once again the Giants entered the game too late, maintaining a very reactive posture and nothing out of the ordinary. It was too little to achieve victory, with NRG winning 13-7 and advancing to the Semis.
#LOUDWIN v #KCORPWIN
In the last match of the day, the Brazilians from LOUD returned to the field against KarmineCorp. There was a lot of expectation around this particular match due to the immense support that both teams have from their respective fan bases.
On the first map, Pearl, the Brazilian team had a good game plan for the Attacking side. They quickly read their opponents and took advantage of the good moment in the game to score a lot, ending the first half with a score of 8-4. In the second half, however, the Karmine team reacted and managed to compete round by round, but not enough to recover from the damage. The LOUD team won their map pick 13-10.
The story was very similar in Split, with the Brazilians bringing a very bold strategy and using their Raze and Jett picks well. Quick advances and specific kills earned them 8 points in the first half as Attackers, and good individual plays and decision-making allowed the LOUD team to easily close out the map, with a final score of 13-8.
As a result, the Karmine and Giants teams bid farewell to the competition today, and LOUD and NRG advance to the Semis.
MVP of the Day
The MVP of the Day goes to Felipe "Less" Basso due to his astonishing performance on both maps played by LOUD.
