Probably one of the worst-kept secrets, Sentinels have announced that Mohamed Amine "Johnqt" Ouarid has joined the organization as their new IGL. Rumors and leaks have been pretty strong in the past couple of days, and now Sentinels have officially announced.

johnqt will be the new IGL of Sentinels

Sentinels had great success in the initial year of professional VALORANT, but they still look far away from their performances back in the day. Despite spending huge budgets on star players, the organization never met the expectations, and this year, they could qualify for neither VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo and VALORANT Champions 2023. The organization is still looking for a redemption season to prove their worth again.

Johnqt’s career started slowly, but he made his name known under the Ghost Gaming roof. He won the NSG: Summer Championship 2022 trophy with his team and then joined M80 to compete in VALORANT Challengers North America. Firstly, he won VALORANT Challenger 2023: North America Face Off and then took down The Guard to lift the VALORANT Challengers 2023: North America Challenger Playoffs trophy. However, M80 failed to go all the way to the end and lost to The Guard in the VCT 2023: Ascension Americas Final, which meant their franchising slot chance disappeared.

Despite losing the final, johnqt still showed his capabilities and got on the radar of franchising teams. According to today’s announcement, he has joined Sentinels and will be the team’s new IGL in the upcoming season. Johnqt holds a 1.10 rating and a 1.29 K/D.

Here is the six-man Sentinels roster right now, which will likely see changes in the upcoming days or weeks:
