All Hytale Armor (Head, Chest, Hands & Legs): Best gear to stay alive
Stronger builds start hereFrom the first shaky steps out of your starting area to your deepest ventures into dangerous biomes, your Hytale armor determines whether you thrive or fall. This guide breaks down everything you need to know about armor — their recipes, stats, and the best ones to choose.
What is Armor in Hytale?
In Hytale, armor is protective equipment your character wears to reduce incoming damage and sometimes grant special bonuses. You have four armor slots:
- Head
- Chest
- Hands
- Legs

Armor is crafted primarily at the Armorer’s Workbench (2 × Copper Ingots, 10 × Tree Trunks, 5 × Stone), which can be upgraded to unlock higher-tier materials. Across all slots, armor generally follows the same material progression:
- Copper: Entry-level protection
- Iron: Early-game standard
- Thorium: Mid-game durability
- Cobalt: Advanced defensive tier
- Adamantite: Late-game power armor
- Mithril: End-game, resource-intensive gear
Each tier improves defensive value and durability, but different slots scale differently in terms of cost and impact.

Best Hytale armor to choose
Adamantite armor options sits at the top of the armor tier list thanks to its excellent defensive stats and beneficial damage bonus (e.g., Light Attack). Hytale Adamantite armors provide some of the highest survivability and combat output without requiring the extreme grind of other tiers.

Don’t forget to get your Shield in Hytale
Shields are off-hand defensive equipment that you can equip alongside a one-handed weapon. Unlike armor (helm, cuirass, gauntlets, and greaves), shields don’t directly increase your health or resistances, but they let you block or deflect incoming attacks, reducing damage from enemies when used properly.

Shields are equipped in the off-hand slot and can be raised while moving or engaging enemies.
