What’s better than acing a round, getting a Thrifty, or nailing a perfect long-distance frag in the most popular tactical FPS in town? Ok, maybe it’s not better than any of those, but kitting yourself out with new VALORANT skins for your weapons is right up there with what makes this game so awesome.

Riot Games are no stranger to visually stunning skins that give players the ability to stand out. In fact, they’re experts in pulling off skins so beautiful you’d shed a tear of joy.

New skin releases in VALORANT are like little doses of Christmas come early for eager fans worldwide for a reason. With exquisite attention to detail, these artistic skins are just about one of the coolest aspects of the game.

It’s no stretch to say you’ll be utterly spoiled for choice with the gun skin variety up for grabs here - and Riot wouldn’t have it any other way!

Each new skin comes with custom animations, sound effects, reloads, and death animations. Some of them even evolve when your weapon levels up, changing not only visually, but how they react, too.

There’s a lot of ground to cover here, and with new skins coming out every two weeks or so, plus new Battle Passes for each Episode/Act, we want you fully equipped to grab the best gear mods for you.

So, from new skins to exciting bundles and Battle Passes, we’ll aim to walk you through the full gun show in this guide to everything you need to know about new VALORANT skins and how to get them.

VALORANT’s new skin bundles

Weapon skins are considered one of the most important aspects of VALORANT. They’re not just a status symbol, they’re an expression of your style, strengths, and personality.

Since the beginning, VALORANT has given players access to a rotating selection of new skin bundles.

The idea is simple – curate a collection of cosmetic enhancements around various eye-catching themes. Alongside new gun skins, these packs include gun buddies, sprays, player cards and more.

If a bundle catches your eye, act fast to grab it! Bundles rotate out every few weeks, and often, once one sells out, it’s gone for good. Some bundles are limited-time only packs, like the Luna New Year skins. Miss out, and you’ll have to cross your fingers and pray to the Radianite gods that at least some of the bundle’s items return to the rotating store.

There are exceptions to this, but generally, only the most popular past skins are likely to return to feature in new skin packs like the Run it Back Bundle (filled with popular skins as voted for by fans).

Are the skin bundles best?

You don’t always have to grab a new skin pack - you can buy individual skins from any skin line via the in-game store.

This might even be your best bet. Say you’re only after a new Vandal skin, or a new knife skin, or maybe you only have eyes for a new Ghost or Phantom skin – unless the latest skin bundle ticks every box, you might prefer to fork out for the individual new skins and save your points for a pack better suited to you.

That said, VALORANT’s skin bundles are the best bang for your buck for a bulk weapon skin purchase.

How to get new skins

It’s easy to get new skins in VALORANT – simply hop on over to the in-game store and check out the available selection.

The store features a rotating selection of new gun skins alongside the latest skin packs and Battle Passes. All you have to do is choose which you want and buy the skins with your VALORANT Points (VP).

To get VALORANT Points, you’ll need to spend some dollar. You can buy points in increments of $5, $10, $20, $35, $50, and $100.

It is possible to get VP for free… but you’ll have to get creative. Here’s how:

  1. Draw anything related to VALORANT - it doesn’t have to be a good drawing.
  2. Head over to VALORANT’s support page.
  3. Create a ticket under the “Purchases & in-game Content” or “General” categories.
  4. Attach your drawing.
  5. Submit the ticket and wait for Riot’s reply.

The most you’ll earn is 50 VP, but hey, it’s better than a kick in the teeth!

How much do new skins cost?

Weapon skins are ranked into tiers in VALORANT. The lower the tier, the less a new skin will cost, and vice versa.

Here’s a quick overview of those tiers and their prices:

Select Edition (SE)

  • Identification marker: a blue circle
  • Individual skin cost: 875 VP (roughly $10)
  • Skin bundle cost: 2930 – 3500 VP (between $34 and $41)

Deluxe Edition (DE)

  • Identification marker: a green rhombus
  • Individual skin cost: 1275 VP (roughly $16)
  • Skin bundle cost: 5100 VP (roughly $62)

Premium Edition (PE)

  • Identification marker: an upside-down pink triangle
  • Individual skin cost: 1775 VP (roughly $23)
  • Skin bundle cost: 7100 VP (roughly $82)

Ultra Edition (UE)

  • Identification marker: a yellow diamond
  • Individual skin cost: 2475 VP (roughly $30)
  • Skin bundle cost: 9900 VP (roughly $119)

Exclusive Edition (XE)

  • Identification marker: an upside-down orange pentagon
  • Individual skin cost: variable

What if you miss out on a new skin?

Neither individual skins nor new skin bundles last forever. VALORANT’s in-game store rotates individual skins every 24 hours and changes bundles every few weeks.

Our best advice is that if you see a skin you like, grab it for your collection – you never know when you might get another chance.

That said, most skins do come back to the store eventually. Plus, Riot releases new skins with such rapidity, you’ll almost certainly spot something else soon that tickles your fancy.

Can you get VALO skins for free?

Aye, agent – you can indeed!

VALORANT offers a few ways to grab free gun skins, most notably via the Battle Pass and Agent Contracts. Check out our dedicated guide to getting free skins for more help on that.

When are new VALORANT skin leaks?

We tend to get new upcoming VALORANT skin info leaked at least a few hours before Riot reveals their new skin lines. Sometimes, we’re lucky enough to hear about new skins as much as a day in advance.

Your best bet to stay on top of all new leaks is by following the likes of ValorLeaks and ValorantUpdated on Twitter.

That’ll keep you in the loop with all you need to know so you can stop wondering how much the new skins will be, start stocking up on VP for the release, and write another apology letter to your bank account.

VALORANT new battle pass skins

Each new Episode and Act of VALORANT brings in a new Battle Pass, packed with new skin lines, sprays, and other rewards to grind for.

These new skins are often released as all-inclusive bundles when each new Battle Pass hits the servers. You can’t buy Battle Pass skins via the store like other skins though – to get these new skins, you’ll need to buy the Battle Pass and build up your XP.

Each Pass costs 1000 VALORANT Points, and it’s a must-buy for any player hoping to get the maximum rewards and best Battle Pass skins each season.

There is a free track you can play through, but you won’t get access to all the new skins the Battle Pass has to offer that way.
