When players talk about Roblox game studs currency, they mean something very different from Roblox’s main currency, Robux. In Roblox itself, a stud is normally a building measurement or a block surface type. But in several games, developers have turned studs into an in-game currency that players can earn and spend.

So, what are studs in Roblox?

• Building unit: In Roblox Studio, a stud is a unit of measurement. It defines the size and distance of objects in the 3D world.
• Surface style: Studs also appear as bumps on parts (like LEGO bricks), used for snapping blocks together.

How much is 1 stud in Roblox?

One stud is roughly 0.28 meters (28 centimeters) in the Roblox world. It’s used to measure distance, part sizes, and movement inside the engine. For example, a standard character is about 5 studs wide and 16 studs tall.

So by default, studs are not money. But some games change that meaning.

A few popular Roblox games use studs as their main currency:

BEAR

BEAR is a Roblox horror-survival game where one player becomes the menacing Bear and others are Survivors who must solve puzzles and stay alive; it also has a unique in-game currency called Studs, introduced during Week 4: Retro, which players once earned by completing puzzles, killing Survivors, winning rounds, or finding them around maps—but currently, Studs are only available through limited events or content.

Dreamsphere (Frozen Soul)

Dreamsphere: Frozen Soul is a Roblox adventure game that takes players through dreamlike worlds as Nashatra, a Sleepwalker exploring the Dreamsphere. The game mixes exploration, combat, and resource gathering across different realms. 

Its main economy uses studs as a temporary, session-based currency that you earn by moving around, collecting items, breaking props, or selling trash; these studs can then be spent on consumables or short-term upgrades during your run. 
Alongside this, a secondary currency called Reposes exists, which persists between sessions and lets you buy more lasting or powerful items, giving players both immediate and long-term progression options.
