Igor "Redgar" Vlasov has joined GIANTX for the upcoming season, shortly after leaving Team Liquid during the offseason. The Russian player will fill in the shoes of rhyme, who parted ways with the organization and retired from professional play a couple of weeks ago.

This morning, Redgar left Team Liquid, and he was the third member to leave the TL roster after a “meh” season. Liquid won the VCT 2023 EMEA League trophy, but they failed to show existence in the international tournaments. At the end of the season, the board decided to make some changes, and parting ways with Redgar was one of them. According to the latest news, Redgar didn’t waste any time finding himself a new team for the upcoming season. Giants shared a video on their social media channels announcing the arrival of the Russian IGL (In-game leader). The other four players are still on the active roster, and Giants are expected to keep their core, only replacing rhyme with Redgar for the 2024 season

Redgar will replace rhyme

Redgar is one of the most experienced IGLs in the region as he has been playing at the highest level for a while now. First, he showed his true capacity with Gambit Esports, which then turned into M3 Champions. During his time with the CIS representatives, Redgar won the VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs and VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters Berlin trophies. He then played in the first VALORANT Champions finals but placed second. Last year, he was a member of the Liquid roster that lifted the VCT 2023 EMEA League trophy. From now on, the Russian IGL will compete for Giants’ success.

"I’m very grateful to be the part of this team and Spanish community, and as a real Giant I will do my best to lead this team for the victory. I trust this roaster and believe that this new chapter of my life will turn to gigantic success," Redgar said.

"Redgar is an elite player with an impressive track record. We didn't just choose him; he also chose us. He's a highly sought-after player with exceptional qualifications. He aligns with our gaming philosophy and coach Pipson's work ethic. His ambition matches ours, which is to continue striving for victory. Rhyme made significant contributions to our team, excelling at all levels, and played a critical role in shaping the team we have today. With the work we've put in so far and the addition of Redgar, we believe we can take a significant step toward achieving victory," David Alonso "Lozark" the sports director of Giants said.

As mentioned, Giants will keep their core, and with Redgar’s arrival, here is their new lineup:
