Apex Legends Prodigy ushers in a bold new era for the game, packed with fresh content and competitive enhancements. From the debut of the agile new Legend Sparrow to the explosive return of the Bocek Compound Bow and a complete Ranked overhaul, Season 25 is designed to challenge, thrill, and reward players like never before. Here is how:

Deep dive into what Apex Legends Prodigy brings: Sparrow, Bocek & Ranked

Apex Legends Season 25: Prodigy introduces major updates centered on the new Apex Legend Sparrow, a revamped weapon, namely the Bocek Compound Bow, and significant changes to Ranked play.

    Here’s a breakdown of each:

    Abilities:

    • Passive: Double Jump
      • Press jump while mid-air for a second leap.
      • While climbing, pressing jump launches Sparrow up the wall.
      • Can carry extra arrows and explosive arrows for the Bocek.
    • Tactical: Tracker Dart
      • Fires a dart that scans enemies who cross its line of sight.
      • Can activate Survey Beacons remotely.
    • Ultimate: Stinger Bolt
      • Shoots an arrow that sticks to surfaces and charges up.
      • After charging, it shocks nearby enemies—deals damage and slows them.

    Upgrades:

    • Level 2:
      • Extra Traps: +1 Tactical charge and +2 deployable darts.
      • Hunt Target: Speed boost when moving toward marked enemies.
    • Level 3:
      • Alternate Mode: Ult has 3 smaller charges with fewer pulses.
      • Life Siphon: Heals health and shields if enemies are hit by Ult.

    Key changes:

    • Explosive Arrows:
      • Use Frag Grenades to energize arrows.
      • Explosive arrows stick to players/world, then explode after 2 seconds.
      • Deal 40 hit damage (64 on headshot) + 25 AoE damage in 5m radius.
    • Other changes:
      • Now uses its own arrow reserve (40 max, retrievable from enemies and the world).
      • Sniper Stocks now attachable.
      • Shattercaps removed.
      • Max draw damage reduced from 75 → 55.
      • Rate of fire decreased.

    Ranked Mode changes

Apex Legends Prodigy introduces smarter matchmaking and rewards based on skill, not just grind.

    Key changes:

    • Placement Based on Hidden Skill:
      • Initial Ranked tier now uses your true skill value, not RP from previous seasons.
      • Skipping a season no longer resets you to Bronze IV.
    • Ranked Ladder (Coming Mid-Split):
      • Compete on personal leaderboards for extra rewards.
      • Top 10 RP matches count toward your ladder rank.
      • Complete 10 Ranked matches to qualify.
    • Ladder Champion Dive Trail:
      • Awarded temporarily to players who reach Champion rank a set number of times during the split.
    • Stricter Matchmaking:
      • High-ranked players (Platinum+) will face longer queue times in exchange for tighter skill matchups.
      • Better alignment between RP and true skill.
    • Ranked Challenges (rolling out over time):
      • Must play a minimum number of matches to qualify for end-of-season Ranked rewards.
