Apex Legends’ Season 25 mid-season patch brings major changes, and Wattson gets one of the biggest upgrades. For a long time, Wattson was a defensive pick who struggled to keep up with aggressive Legends. But this patch changes that, as she becomes much stronger and more useful alongside Ash. Let’s take a closer look at Wattson and Ash’s buffs in Apex Legends alongside other patch notes!

Apex Legends Wattson buff comes mid-season

Wattson now plays much better after the Season 25 mid-season update. Respawn improves her passive, tactical, and upgrade levels.

The biggest upgrade is her Passive: Spark of Genius. Her shield recharge now happens every 1 second instead of every 2. This means she can fully recharge a red body shield in 125 seconds instead of 250. This makes her stay alive longer and fight more often.

Her Tactical: Perimeter Security also gets a strong improvement. She can now place fences much faster, with only a 4-second cooldown instead of 15. Her fence nodes now have 50 HP, double what they had before. This helps her defend better against enemies trying to break through.

Here is what the buff adds to Wattson:

    • Faster fence cooldown
    • Stronger fence health
    • Shield regenerates twice as fast
    • Electrified doors that stun enemies
    • Better support upgrades, including faster revives and access to Support Bins
    • New ultimate upgrades that charge faster with damage or knockdowns

Ash received a buff alongside Wattson

Ash also receives a helpful buff in this mid-season update. She becomes faster and more mobile, which helps players use her more effectively in fights.

The patch notes mention that Ash’s dash cooldown is now 8 seconds instead of 10. Her tether also pulls enemies with slightly less force, which balances her strength in close fights. But there is another change that is not listed in the official notes.

Ash’s Ultimate: Phase Breach now reaches 77 meters instead of 63. This extra distance gives her a big advantage. She can now place portals in more creative spots, including areas she cannot reach on foot. This makes her useful for rotating, escaping, or attacking from new angles.

Here is what Ash’s buff brings:

    • Shorter dash cooldown (8 seconds)
    • Less aggressive tether pull
    • Longer portal range (77 meters)
    • New upgrade that gives health regeneration after knockdowns
