Best 1v1 Map Codes in Fortnite

If you find yourself losing 1v1 gunfights a lot in Fortnite Battle Royale, you’re not alone… at least, if the sheer number of Reddit posts on the subject is any indication. 

Despite its animated art style and marketing toward younger players, combat in Fortnite isn’t simple at all—it’s all too easy to get overwhelmed by the explosions, unique gun mechanics, and contraptions that characterize Epic Games’ flagship shooter. 

Add rapid building, editing, and overall intensity of battle royales into the mix, and it’s no wonder newer players start to feel frustrated when they lose aim duels. 

Unfortunately, even though you can adjust settings like sensitivity to help your aim, there’s no silver bullet to suddenly make you a better player. Skill-based elements like these take practice—and in times past, the only way to practice was by queuing battle royale matches over and over, ad nauseum.

Why not just use bot maps? 

There are several aim-training routines and maps out there to augment your raw aim in Fortnite—and if you need to simply test your sensitivity, warm up your wrist, or break in new PC accessories, these would do the trick. 

However, Fortnite’s gameplay extends well beyond simply pointing your mouse at a target and clicking. For instance, ever since Epic Games introduced vaulting, sliding, and tactical sprinting into the movement toolbox, the importance of knowing how to quickly maneuver and reposition during fights has only grown. 

Arguably, movement is now equally as important—if not more-so—than raw aim in the game. And shooting at bots in a Creative map won’t help train movement. 

Another example: different guns have different spreads, bullet velocities, movement error, and handling. Yes, shooting at stationary bots can certainly help players learn their weapon preferences… but they’re no substitute for an equally skilled player who’s shooting back. 

Human players also strafe, mantel, jump, sprint, and execute dozens of other evasive maneuvers to avoid getting shot. You won’t be able to practice shooting these sorts of players when you load up bot-centric maps—only maps that support gunfights with other humans. 

On the whole, if you want realistic training, the choice between bot maps and human 1v1 maps seems pretty clear.
