There is no doubt that the Legend of Zelda is one of the most popular video game franchises and it has been like this for quite some time. While solving puzzle-like quests can be very fun, an it obviously covers the majority in this game, sometimes we might need help with certain stuff. Getting into Gerudo Town in Legend of the Zelda is also one of them.

Gerudo Town, set in the vast Gerudo Desert, is a highlight in The Legend of Zelda series. In Tears of the Kingdom, this location takes a mysterious and dangerous turn, shrouded by the Sand Shroud phenomenon. Previously in "Breath of the Wild," the town was more welcoming, but now it's harder to reach and explore.

Gerudo Town is famous for its strict entry rules. The town allows only women to enter. This sets up a unique challenge for players, especially since Link, the main character, is usually not allowed in. With the Sand Shroud making things worse, sneaking into Gerudo Town is not the easiest task but don’t worry, we explain everything you need to know in this guide!

Spoiler alert! Think twice before you scroll down!

How to get into Gerudo Town in Zelda

First things first, you need to go to Kara Kara Bazaar. This marketplace is located on the road to Gerudo Town. Make sure to stop here first. At the bazaar, buy a Desert Voe Headband from the shopkeeper.

Once you have the headband, head towards Gerudo Town. The Sand Shroud makes this area dangerous. It is filled with enemies and it’s hard to see where you’re going. The best way to approach Gerudo Town is from above. Use the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower to get a good view. From there, you can glide directly into the town. Even if you land in a tough spot, keep your eyes on Gerudo Town. It will guide your way.

When you arrive, you'll see that the Sand Shroud has caused a lot of problems in Gerudo Town. Most people have moved to an underground shelter.

What is Gerudo Town in Zelda?

Gerudo Town is a major location in the Gerudo Desert. It is the main settlement of the Gerudo people.

In the "Legend of Zelda" series, entering Gerudo Town as Link is a little bit challenging. Link must disguise himself as a woman to get past the guards. This is part of the "Forbidden City Entry" quest. Once inside, players can start many quests, meet important characters like Riju, the Gerudo chief, and explore various shops and sites.

The town has many quests and sites of interest. Players can attempt quests to get special items like the Thunder Helm. They can also attend classes taught by Ashai, or find treasures hidden around town. Despite the town's strict entry policy, some exceptions exist, like two male Gorons who are allowed inside, showing the town’s unique cultural aspects.

Where is the password for Gerudo Town?

To enter some parts of Gerudo Town, like the Gerudo Secret Club, you need a password. You can get the password by starting the "The Secret Club's Secret" quest. During this quest, Link needs to listen to a conversation among some Gerudo women at The Noble Canteen.

Don’t worry, we will save you from the hassle of all the side-quest trouble and give you the passcode right away. The password is "GSC♦." With this password, you can enter the club and access special items not found elsewhere in town.

How do you get Gerudo Desert clothes?

To blend in and gain entry to Gerudo Town, you need the Gerudo Outfit. This outfit includes the Gerudo Veil, Gerudo Top, and Gerudo Sirwal. Initially, you can buy this outfit from Vilia at Kara Kara Bazaar for 600 Rupees during the "Forbidden City Entry" quest. After this quest, you can buy the outfit pieces in Gerudo Town for a total of 540 Rupees.

Another important item is the Desert Voe Spaulder. You can find this item in the Gerudo Secret Club. This club is a hidden shop that sells the Voe attire, essential for surviving in the harsh desert environment.

What happens if you take off your clothes in Gerudo Town?

Gerudo Town has strict rules about what you can wear inside its walls. If Link takes off any part of his Gerudo outfit, like the Thunder Helm or Sand Boots, the Gerudo soldiers will kick him out of the town. The same thing happens if Link tries to climb the town walls to get inside.

How do you get into Gerudo Town in Zelda?

Getting into Gerudo Town in Tears of the Kingdom is not difficult once you know the right path. Start by unlocking the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. This helps you mark the area on your map and plan your route. From there, glide or travel southwest toward the Gerudo Desert. You will pass through the Kara Kara Bazaar on your way.

The desert has a strong sandstorm that blocks your map and makes it hard to see, so keep moving in a straight line toward the large rock structures. When you reach Gerudo Town, the main gates will appear sealed. To enter, look for a hidden path below the palace throne room. This tunnel leads to the underground shelter, where the Gerudo people have gathered for safety. Once inside, you can talk to the guards and continue the story quests linked to the area.

What Armor is best for Gerudo Desert?

The best armor for exploring the Gerudo Desert is the Desert Voe Set. You can buy it inside Gerudo Town from the Secret Club. The set gives strong heat resistance, which helps you survive during the day. When upgraded, it also protects you from electricity attacks.

For extra defense, you can wear a Ruby Circlet to boost heat protection or use Sand Boots to move faster on the desert floor. With the right gear, you can explore longer, fight more effectively, and avoid damage from the extreme desert heat.
