Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts explained
Roblox safety gets a big updateRoblox is one of the most popular gaming platforms for children and teens. With millions of young users, safety has become a major focus. That is why Roblox introduced Roblox Kids and Roblox Select, two new account types designed to create a safer and more age-appropriate experience.
This guide explains everything you need to know about Roblox Kids and Roblox Select, including features, differences, and the official release timeline.
What are Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts?
Roblox Kids and Roblox Select are new age-based account systems for users under 16. Instead of giving all players the same access, Roblox now adjusts content, communication, and safety settings based on age.
- Roblox Kids for ages 5–8
- Roblox Select for ages 9–15

Both systems focus on safety but offer different levels of access. The goal is to make Roblox safer without removing fun or creativity. Here are all the details you need to know.

- Strong parental controls: Parents can:
- Control screen time
- Approve games
- Manage communication settings
- Curated content: Kids only see safe, age-appropriate games.
What is Roblox Select?
Roblox Select is designed for older kids and teens aged 9 to 15. It offers more freedom than Roblox Kids but still includes safety controls.
- More game access: Players can access games rated up to Moderate.
- Controlled chat features: Chat is gradually introduced, with restrictions depending on age and location.
- More independence: Users can explore more complex and social experiences.
- Parental oversight: Parents can still:
- Monitor activity
- Limit communication
- Approve content
