Gear up for the next VALORANT update
Riot Games is set to launch a major update with Patch 11.00, introducing Season 2025 Act 4. The update begins rolling out on June 24–25, 2025, depending on region, with new features, skins, and most notably, a brand-new map debuting alongside a fresh competitive map rotation.
- Map rotation impact: Corrode joins the active duty map pool rotation alongside Bind, replacing Pearl and Split in the competitive map pool.
The map blends historic architecture with industrial elements, including salt flats and distant storm visuals.
It’s set in a rugged, partially ruined medieval French fortress on Omega Earth, converted into a Radianite salt-mining complex, inspired by Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy.

Corrode draws inspiration from the famous Mont-Saint-Michel, a tidal island and abbey in Normandy, France.
Deep dive into VALORANT’s new Corrode map
Corrode follows standard VALORANT design with two spike sites (A/B) and a three-lane structure. The map emphasizes layered defense, fallback positions, and midfield complexity with angular walls and obstacles.
Unique features include:
- Sunken bomb sites offering elevated headshot angles for defenders.
- A narrow, obstacle-filled mid shared between lines of attack.
- Opportunities for lurks and rotations via centralized mid-lane.
- Normal competitive RR applies for wins, but 50% reduced RR loss during the first two weeks to encourage play.
