VALORANT Mobile
VALORANT Mobile is an upcoming title that a huge community looks forward to. It has been quite some time after the initial development phase and it looks like we are getting closer to the end, considering all the latest information about Riot’s project. The company recently released VALORANT Console and it is time for the highly-awaited mobile version. We are here to answer all your questions about this game. Here is everything about VALORANT Mobile, including its release date, how to download it, system requirements, its comparison with the PC version and many more!
VALORANT Mobile release date and regional availability
Riot started the first launch in China on April 21, 2025. The game is available there through Huawei’s AppGallery. This soft launch helps Riot test the game with more players before it becomes available in other regions.
A global release is expected to follow during Summer 2025, according to rumors online. Riot plans to release the game in parts, starting with India, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The company has not shared exact dates yet.
Riot wants to support players in every region. That means the game will offer local languages, local payment systems, and regional servers. Matchmaking and in-game support will also match the needs of each region.
How to pre-register for VALORANT Mobile
Players in China can already pre-register for VALORANT Mobile through Huawei’s AppGallery, Tencent’s QQ platform, and the region's official VALORANT Mobile website. Those selected for early playtests receive an email with instructions on how to download the game and start playing. Riot and Tencent prioritize the Chinese market first because Lightspeed Studios, the game’s developer, is based in China. This local focus helps the team gather feedback and improve the game before the global release.
For players outside of China, pre-registration is not yet open. However, it will likely go live on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in the coming weeks. Riot has not confirmed an international registration website, but mobile players are encouraged to follow official Riot channels for updates. Using a VPN to access Chinese servers is possible, but high ping and lag can seriously affect the gameplay experience. It’s best to wait for the official launch in your region.
Core mechanics of VALORANT Mobile
VALORANT Mobile keeps the same 5v5 team gameplay that made the PC version popular. Players choose Agents, and each Agent has special abilities. These abilities help teams attack or defend more effectively. The first Agents in the mobile version include Jett, Phoenix, Brimstone, and Sage. Riot will add more Agents later through updates.
The controls are designed for mobile phones. Players will use auto-aim to help with shooting, and gyro controls are available for better aiming. The heads-up display is larger, so it is easier to press abilities. Players can also buy gear quickly with quick-buy buttons, which helps them save time between rounds.
Maps like Ascent and Bind are available in this version, and Riot has changed some details to make them work better on smaller screens.
VALORANT Mobile device requirements
VALORANT Mobile works on many phones, including budget models. Riot and Tencent optimized the game so it runs smoothly without needing high-end hardware. Check out the official requirements below:
For Android:
- Snapdragon 450, MediaTek P60, or Kirin 710
- Android 5.0 or later
- 3 GB RAM or more
- At least 16 GB of storage
For iOS:
- iPhone 6S or newer
- iOS 12 or later
- At least 16 GB of storage
Is VALORANT Mobile free?
Yes, VALORANT Mobile is free to play. Players can enjoy the full game without paying. However, there are in-game purchases for cosmetics. These items include:
- Weapon skins
- Gun buddies
- Agent animations
- Player cards
- Sprays
Players can also buy the Battle Pass, which has a free version and a paid version. The paid Battle Pass offers more rewards, but it does not give any gameplay advantages.
Riot has confirmed that there are no pay-to-win features. Every player must earn game-related progress by playing. According to VALORANT Mobile news, VALORANT Mobile won’t support skin transfers from PC or console versions. To compensate for that, the team at Riot Games is looking to make the bundles cheaper for the mobile version.
Is VALORANT Mobile on Google Play Store?
Currently, you cannot find VALORANT Mobile on the Google Play Store. The game is still in its beta testing phase and it is not clear if or when it will be available on the Google Play Store. This is a common practice for many high-profile mobile games to manage updates and changes effectively during early testing stages.
How to play VALORANT Mobile
Once the global launch of VALORANT Mobile is complete, players will be able to enjoy this game on their smartphones or tablets. Like other mobile FPS games, you will use one hand to move your agent and the other hand to aim and shoot. The game screen will also have icons for various skills. You can tap these icons to use your agent's abilities when needed.
Can I play VALORANT on mobile data?
You can play VALORANT Mobile using mobile data, but it's important to have a strong connection to avoid game lag or interruptions. Although it’s possible to play over mobile data, using WiFi is usually better for a stable and smooth gaming experience. WiFi generally provides a more consistent internet connection, which is crucial for fast-paced games like VALORANT.
VALORANT Mobile vs. PC
VALORANT Mobile is being created from scratch, specifically for mobile devices. This means it's not just a simple copy of the PC game. The development team is building it to work well on Android and iOS devices. This version has the same maps, weapons, and agents as the PC version, but the game timings and round requirements will differ. Mobile game sessions will be shorter, which suits mobile gaming where players often want quicker matches. Riot Games has not shared information about whether players will be able to share progress between the PC and mobile versions.
Riot has been working on the VALORANT Mobile project for a while. We first heard about it when the company started looking for mobile game developers with and ad we saw on the careers page. A long time has passed since then and we still can't have our hands on the official VALORANT Mobile game as of writing.
As the beta testing continues and the developers gather more feedback, the gaming community is looking forward to the final version that will let them play this popular tactical shooter on their mobile devices. If you are looking for more VALORANT guides, check out the ones below:
