Everything you need to know about the Apex Legends June 2025 Update
This massive update brought a lot of changes and additions to Apex Legends.Season 25 began almost a month ago. Since then, players have asked for better balance and more fairness in matches. Respawn released a new Apex Legends update on June 3, 2025. This update does not include any new maps or game modes. However, it brings important changes that affect the gameplay. On top of that, Respawn shared new data that shows cheating has gone down over the past few months. Here is everything you need to know about the Apex Legends June 2025 update!
What has changed with the Apex Legends June 2025 update?
The June update brings changes that affect gameplay, performance, and cheating. Respawn focused on Legend balance and game stability.
Legend Changes
- Alter now has a shorter delay when players follow her portal. The delay drops from 8 seconds to 6 seconds. Her Nexus reactivation time increases from 30 seconds to 60 seconds. These changes make it harder for her team to escape or regroup.
- Ballistic deals less damage when his weapon overheats. The damage drops from 30 to 15. His Ultimate no longer extends after knocking enemies. These changes reduce his power in long fights.
- Conduit can now use her Tactical ability more often. The cooldown drops from 31 seconds to 21 seconds. This allows her to protect teammates more often during fights.

Performance Fixes
Respawn fixed crash problems that affected Season 25. The update also improves the Ranked Ladder system. These fixes help make matches smoother and more stable.
Anti-Cheat Improvements
Cheating has been a problem in past seasons. Respawn shared new data that shows clear progress. They said that cheating in ranked matches dropped by more than 30% since Season 22.
This progress comes from several updates:
- Respawn banned Apex Legends on Linux devices in Season 23
- They improved tools that find and ban cheaters faster
- They started using new systems to detect unfair player behavior
These steps help reduce the number of matches affected by cheaters. Respawn plans to keep improving these tools in future updates. You can check out the official patch notes here.
New Anti-Cheat stats and what they show
Respawn shared new information about how they measure cheating in Apex Legends. They use two main numbers to track progress. The first is called the Match Infection Rate. This shows the percentage of matches where at least one player was reported three or more times and then banned for cheating within the past 14 days. The second is called Reports Per User, which measures how often players are reported for cheating at least three times within 28 days.

These two numbers help Respawn track how cheating affects matches, even when the number of players changes. Matches in Apex Legends have 60 players, so there is a higher chance that at least one cheater will appear compared to smaller team-based games.
Since Season 22, both of these numbers have gone down by over 30%. Respawn says this is because of better cheat detection tools and quicker bans. The ban on Linux devices in Season 23 also helped reduce the infection rate. These changes mean fewer matches now include cheaters.

Respawn said they do not use just one number to measure success. They also review community reports, automatic bans, and player feedback. The team is also working on new systems that detect unfair behavior, such as anti-recoil tools and behavior tracking. These changes will help catch cheaters more quickly in future updates.
When is the next Apex Legends update?
Respawn usually releases a second update during the middle of each season. Season 25 started on May 6. The last update came on June 3. Players can expect the next patch around late June or early July.
The next update might include more Legend adjustments or Ranked changes. Many players also expect updates to Ash, who remains the most-picked Legend this season. Respawn has not shared a date yet, but more information may come soon.

Season 25 began on May 6, 2025. It introduced a new Recon Legend named Sparrow. Her abilities include:
