The EA FC 27 best teams bring together some ridiculous squads. Real Madrid have Kylian Mbappé leading an attack packed with elite talent, Manchester City have Erling Haaland and Rodri, while Barcelona now boast two 90-rated young superstars in Lamine Yamal and Pedri.

EA has awarded eight men's clubs the maximum five-star rating in FC 27, giving you plenty of elite options for Kick Off, Career Mode, and other modes.

But which team should you actually use? Here's our ranking of the best EA FC 27 teams, plus the best clubs to manage in Career Mode and what makes each one stand out.

8 best EA FC 27 teams

These are the eight men's teams with a five-star club rating:

EA's official ratings database contains more than 20,000 players, with ratings based on authentic match data and football expertise.

    1. Real Madrid

    • Best for: Overall squad quality

Real Madrid are our pick for the best team in EA FC 27. With Mbappé leading the line, Bellingham running the midfield, and world-class talent all over the pitch, this is the closest thing to a modern-day Galácticos squad.

It starts with Kylian Mbappé, who shares the title of highest-rated men's player in FC 27 with a 91 OVR. His 96 Pace, 91 Shooting, and 92 Dribbling make him an obvious threat whenever there's space behind the defence.

The squad isn't dependent on one superstar either. Thibaut Courtois and Jude Bellingham are both 90-rated, while Vini Jr. sits at 89 and Federico Valverde at 87.

That combination of pace, technical quality, midfield strength, and an elite goalkeeper makes Madrid extremely difficult to find a genuine weakness in.

They're also an obvious choice if you want a superclub save in EA FC 27 Career Mode, where the challenge is less about rebuilding and more about maintaining enormous expectations — and explaining to Pérez why your next transfer target isn't already wearing white.

    2. Manchester City

    • Best for: Haaland and midfield control

Manchester City are arguably Real Madrid's closest competition, even though Pep Guardiola has left the club.

    Credit: EA

Erling Haaland is 91-rated, with 92 Shooting, 89 Physicality, and 96 Finishing. Put him in the right position and you have one of the most dangerous pure goalscorers in the game.

Behind him is Gianluigi Donnarumma at 89 and Rúben Dias at 87.

City are particularly appealing if you prefer controlling matches before creating high-quality chances for your striker rather than relying entirely on pace.

    3. PSG

    • Best for: Technical attacking football

PSG no longer need one individual superstar to carry their entire attack.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha are both 90-rated, with Dembélé offering 90 Pace and 93 Dribbling while Vitinha provides 88 Passing and 91 Dribbling in midfield.

Then there's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at 89, Nuno Mendes at 89, and Willian Pacho at 89.

That gives PSG elite players across several areas of the pitch rather than concentrating their quality in one position.

If quick combinations, dribbling, and technical football suit your playstyle, PSG are one of FC 27's strongest options.

    4. Barcelona

    • Best for: Dribbling and young talent

Barcelona have two of the most exciting players in FC 27 sitting at 90 OVR.

Lamine Yamal combines 86 Pace with a huge 93 Dribbling, while Pedri offers 89 Passing and 91 Dribbling from midfield.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Raphinha follows at 88 OVR, with Pau Cubarsí already reaching 86 despite still being one of the game's standout young defenders.

Barcelona are therefore excellent if you like keeping possession, beating defenders on the ball, and building attacks through technical midfielders.

They're even more interesting in Career Mode because several important players still have years of development ahead of them.

    5. Bayern Munich

    • Best for: Finishing

Good luck giving Harry Kane a clean shot.

The Bayern striker is 90-rated with 94 Shooting, the highest Shooting rating among FC 27's leading players. Michael Olise has also jumped four OVR points to 90, giving Bayern another elite attacking option.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Joshua Kimmich sits at 88 with 90 Passing, while Luis Díaz is also 88-rated.

Bayern are an excellent choice if you want a technically strong team built around creating chances for one of the game's deadliest finishers.

    6. Arsenal

    • Best for: Defence and balanced play

Arsenal's biggest strength is immediately obvious from their highest-rated players.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Gabriel is 89-rated with 91 Defending, while William Saliba is 88 with 90 Defending. David Raya and Declan Rice are also rated 88.

That gives Arsenal a strong defensive foundation before you even consider their attacking options. But for me, if you don't have a proper number nine, your squad is missing something. Arsenal's lack of an elite, out-and-out striker means they can feel less complete in attack than the other five-star teams.

They're still a particularly good pick if you prefer a balanced team rather than building your entire strategy around one superstar forward.

    7. Liverpool

    • Best for: Physical defending and midfield creativity

Liverpool remain a five-star club, although their highest individual ratings are slightly lower than Madrid, City, or Barcelona.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Virgil van Dijk leads the squad at 88 OVR, including 89 Defending and 85 Physicality. Alisson follows at 87, while Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak, and Florian Wirtz are all 86-rated.

Wirtz and Szoboszlai give you technical creativity behind the attack, while Van Dijk remains the defensive anchor.

Liverpool are a strong choice if you want a physical but technically capable Premier League team without simply picking Manchester City.

    8. Atlético Madrid

    • Best for: Defensive structure

Atlético Madrid complete the eight five-star men's clubs.

Jan Oblak is their highest-rated player at 88, while Julián Alvarez sits at 86. Grimaldo and Marcos Llorente are both 85-rated, with Llorente's 91 Pace making him particularly useful from right-back.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Atlético don't have as many 89–91 rated stars as the teams at the top of this ranking, but their five-star status reflects the quality available throughout the squad. Good job, Simeone!

They're a good alternative if you want an elite Spanish club without immediately choosing Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Best teams to manage in EA FC 27 Career Mode

The best team to manage depends on how much of a challenge you want. Real Madrid and Manchester City are ideal if you want to compete for trophies immediately, but clubs with strong foundations and room to grow can provide a more rewarding long-term save.

    Galatasaray

    • Best for: Building a European contender

Galatasaray are one of the best teams to manage if you want a club with a huge fanbase, strong domestic expectations, and the ambition to become a regular force in European competition.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

The Turkish giants give you an immediate title challenge in the Süper Lig, but the bigger objective is improving the squad enough to compete consistently in the Champions League. That creates a good balance between short-term pressure and long-term progression.

Players such as Victor Osimhen, Leao, and Leroy Sané give you enough attacking quality to compete immediately, while the squad still leaves room for younger signings and long-term development.

A Galatasaray save is also a strong choice if you enjoy recruiting players from different markets, developing younger talent, and turning domestic success into continental recognition.

    Borussia Dortmund

    • Best for: Developing young stars

Borussia Dortmund are one of the most appealing clubs for a youth-focused Career Mode save, as always. They have the reputation, league quality, and recruitment profile to attract promising young players, while still giving you a realistic challenge against Bayern Munich and other Bundesliga rivals.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

The squad already includes exciting talents such as Jobe Bellingham, Karim Adeyemi, and Jamie Gittens, giving you a strong base for a long-term project. You can add more wonderkids, develop them through regular first-team football, and eventually turn Dortmund into a consistent European powerhouse.

The goal is to develop wonderkids, keep them long enough to win major trophies, and build a squad capable of competing in Europe.

    Juventus

    • Best for: Restoring a fallen giant

Juventus are a strong choice if you want to manage a historic club that still has the resources and reputation to compete at the highest level, but needs a clear rebuild to return to European dominance.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

The challenge is balancing experienced players with younger talent while improving the squad in key areas. You can focus on restoring Juventus' domestic dominance, developing Italian players, and building a team capable of winning the Champions League again.

A Juventus save works particularly well if you enjoy managing expectations at a major club while gradually reshaping the squad through smart transfers and academy development.

    Napoli

    • Best for: Building around attacking talent

Napoli offer an exciting Career Mode project with the chance to compete for trophies while developing a more consistent squad.

The club has a strong footballing identity and access to talented players, but you may need to improve squad depth and find long-term replacements for key positions. Winning Serie A is a realistic short-term objective, while becoming a regular Champions League contender provides a bigger challenge.

Napoli are a good option if you enjoy attacking football, scouting technically gifted players, and competing in one of Europe's most tactical leagues.

    Aston Villa

    • Best for: Breaking into the Premier League elite

Aston Villa are an excellent choice if you want to manage a competitive Premier League club without starting with an already dominant squad.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

You have enough quality to challenge for European places immediately, but the long-term goal is to close the gap to England's biggest clubs. That means improving depth, managing the demands of domestic and European football, and making smart decisions in the transfer market.
Aston Villa are ideal for a save built around gradual progression, ambitious recruitment, and turning a strong squad into a genuine title contender.

    Roma

    • Best for: Rebuilding a historic club

Roma provide a challenging but rewarding Career Mode experience. The club has a passionate fanbase, a strong identity, and the potential to compete for major honours, but you will need to improve consistency and squad balance.

The main objectives are competing with Italy's strongest clubs, developing younger players, and building a squad capable of succeeding in both Serie A and European competition.

Roma are a good choice if you want a save with high expectations, a strong atmosphere, and plenty of room for tactical and squad development.

    Real Betis

    • Best for: Developing technical players

Real Betis are a great option if you want a more patient rebuild in LALIGA. The club has a strong footballing culture and enough quality to compete for European qualification, but still needs careful recruitment to challenge the league's biggest teams.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

You can build around technical midfielders, develop young Spanish talent, and gradually improve the squad through smart scouting. Winning domestic trophies and becoming a regular Champions League club would provide a satisfying long-term objective.

    Ajax

    • Best for: Academy development

Ajax are one of the best clubs for a Career Mode save focused on youth development. Their identity is built around academy players, technical football, and giving young talent a pathway into the first team.

The domestic league provides an opportunity to compete for trophies, but the bigger challenge is building a squad capable of going deep in European competition. You can develop academy prospects, recruit young players from across Europe, and create a sustainable model based on player development.

The goal is to produce your own stars, win the Eredivisie consistently, and eventually challenge Europe's biggest clubs.

Which Premier League team is best in EA FC 27?

Three Premier League clubs have received five-star ratings:

    Team

    Star rating

    Highest-rated player

    Manchester City

    5 stars

    Erling Haaland — 91

    Arsenal

    5 stars

    Gabriel — 89

    Liverpool

    5 stars

    Virgil van Dijk — 88

Manchester City are our pick for the best Premier League team in FC 27, primarily because of the combination of Haaland and Rodri.

Haaland is the Premier League's highest-rated player at 91, followed by Rodri at 90. Arsenal's Gabriel is among the league's strongest defenders at 89, while Liverpool remain a five-star option despite having a lower-rated headline player.

Best 4.5-star teams in EA FC 27

You don't have to pick one of the eight elite clubs.

The men's 4.5-star teams currently include:

    • Juventus
    • Manchester United
    • Chelsea
    • Napoli
    • Borussia Dortmund
    • Roma
    • Tottenham Hotspur
    • Aston Villa

These teams can be particularly fun when playing against friends because you still get a strong squad without immediately reaching for Madrid or City.

They're also interesting Career Mode options because there's generally more work to do before you can consistently compete with Europe's strongest clubs.

Best women's teams in EA FC 27

EA has also awarded six women's clubs five stars:

What is the best team in EA FC 27?

For overall squad quality, Real Madrid are our pick for the best team in EA FC 27.

    Credit: EA
    Credit: EA

Mbappé gives you the game's joint-highest men's OVR alongside devastating pace, while Courtois and Bellingham are both 90-rated and Vini Jr. provides another elite attacking threat.

However, there isn't one perfect choice for every playstyle. Manchester City are brilliant if you want Haaland's finishing and Rodri controlling midfield, while Barcelona offer elite dribbling through Yamal and Pedri. PSG have impressive quality throughout their squad, and Bayern give you Kane's 94 Shooting.

For Career Mode, Galatasaray are one of the best teams to manage if you want a meaningful rebuild with immediate domestic pressure and a long-term European objective. Barcelona, Liverpool, Atlético Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund are also strong choices depending on whether you prefer youth development, squad rebuilding, tactical structure, or wonderkid recruitment.

If you're choosing a club for a long-term save rather than simply looking for the strongest starting XI, check the EA FC 27 Career Mode guide for the new Dynamic OVR, scouting, transfer, and player-development systems.
