Yes, but it does not follow a traditional RPG spell system. Magic in Hytale is item-based, not class-based. This means your character does not learn spells by leveling up or choosing a mage class. Instead, magic comes from weapons, tools, and special items that you equip.

In Hytale, spells are unlocked through
- Find the Forgotten Temple
- Unlock Memories to activate magic progression and portals
- Find Thorium from Desert Biomes or Lava Caves
- Craft the Arcanist’s Bench using:
- 30 Linen Cloth
- 30 Thorium Ingots
- 20 Essence of the Void
- Begin crafting and using spells

This system appears to be planned for full activation in later updates, where mana will become a real resource you must manage during magical combat.
