New arena: Boostfield Mall
The highlight of Season 20 is the brand-new Boostfield Mall Arena. This setting combines Rocket League’s fast gameplay with a vibrant mall atmosphere. The design is colorful and packed with details that give matches a lively new backdrop.

Expanded arenas for 4v4 matches
Season 20 introduces two new Rocket Labs Quads Arenas: Sunset Dunes (Quads) and Midnight Metro (Quads). These arenas are larger to fit eight players, with:
- Extra boost pads and wall-mounted boost pills
- A new middle rotation line to guide 4v4 strategy
- Kickoff spots adjusted for balance
- Respawn points scaled to arena size

These arenas are available in both Competitive and Casual playlists this season.
New vehicles in Rocket Pass
Players can unlock two new RL cars in Season 20:
- Pontiac Firebird with the Breakout hitbox
- Chevrolet Astro with the Merc hitbox

Both cars are part of the Rocket Pass Premium track. Free players can also earn rewards such as the Mad Rad Wheels by logging in during the season.
Competitive play expansion
For the first time in years, Rocket League adds 4v4 (Quads) to the Competitive Playlist. This mode replaces the older 4v4 Chaos in Casual and counts toward seasonal rewards. Titles for Grand Champion and Supersonic Legend will now be available in Quads.
Other changes include:
- Dropshot replaces Snowday in Competitive playlists
- Demolitions now display in 1v1 scoreboards instead of assists
- Demos can be triggered while driving backwards if speed is high enough

Rocket Pass and progression changes
RL Season 20 also revamps progression:
- Challenges are now fully open to all players, with no Premium-only objectives
- Challenges give XP instead of random drops
- XP from online play is doubled, and private matches now award XP
- Credit recovery is faster, available by Tier 70
