Big news for all fans, Apex Legends now features wall running. It is one of the most requested features since the game launched in 2019, and fans have been asking for it because of its strong link to Titanfall. Respawn Entertainment has finally added wall running, but only for a limited time as part of the Galactic Games event. Here is what it is, how it works, and how to wall run in Apex Legends!

What is wall running in Apex Legends?

Wall running is a mobility ability. It lets Legends sprint along vertical surfaces, much like the vertical movement seen in Sparrow’s kit from Season 25. The feature is part of the Wall Runner Wild Card. Players can unlock it during matches in the Wildcard mode. It does not appear by default, so players need to choose it as one of their Wild Cards to use the ability.

Can you do wall running in Apex Legends?

Yes, wall running is in Apex Legends. Respawn added it through the Galactic Games event as part of the Wild Card mechanic. Wall running is not a permanent part of the game. It is a temporary feature that lets players test a different style of movement.

How to wall run in Apex Legends

During the event, each player in Wildcard mode gets a new slot at the start of Rounds 1, 2, and 3. These slots allow up to three Wild Cards. Wall Runner is one of the options, and it gives access to wall running for that match.

Here are all seven Wild Cards in the Galactic Games event:

    • Mad Dash: adds a dash ability
    • Recharger: restores shields while running
    • Personal Space: increases melee knockback
    • Hard Hitter: increases melee damage
    • Status Report: shows enemy locations on knock
    • Wall Runner: gives the ability to wall run
    • Speedy Charge: makes Tactical and Ultimate abilities charge faster

Players craft these Wild Cards in Replicators during matches. This system makes Wild Cards an active part of strategy, because each choice changes how players move and fight.

Until when can you do wall running in Apex Legends?

Wall running is available from August 19 to September 9, 2025. It will disappear after the event ends, because the Wild Card system will return to its original version. This is the only period when players can experience wall running in official Apex Legends matches.

Respawn tested wall running during early development of Apex Legends, but they removed it. The developers explained that it made combat less predictable. With wall running and double jumps, players could move almost anywhere instantly, which reduced the need for strategy. Apex Legends was designed to be more tactical, so the team decided not to include it in the main game.

The Galactic Games event solves this by placing wall running inside the Wildcard mode. This mode is already faster and more chaotic, so adding experimental features does not harm the balance of the core battle royale.

    Galactic Games is live

The Galactic Games event is one of the most ambitious Apex Legends updates in recent years. It combines nostalgia for Titanfall with new ideas for Apex. Wall running gives fans a chance to enjoy the feature they have asked for since 2019. The Grand Slam Bat offers a new way to fight, and the Wild Card system changes how every match unfolds.

For players who care about rewards, the event also delivers. From Legendary skins to milestone prizes, there are many reasons to play daily and complete challenges. The rotating shop and event packs give variety and make sure rewards feel special.

The event also highlights Respawn’s approach to testing mechanics. By placing features like wall running in limited modes, they can experiment without disrupting Apex’s main identity.

Players can also get items from Galactic Games Event Packs. Each pack includes one event item and two regular items. Event packs do not give duplicate event items, which makes it easier to collect the full set during the three weeks.

Wall running is finally part of Apex Legends, but it is only available during the Galactic Games event from August 19 to September 9, 2025. Players can craft the Wall Runner Wild Card in Wildcard mode and experience the mechanic for the first time in the game.

I started writing here in 2021, but my first gig was back in 2018. That was when I realized people actually get paid to write about games. I’ve written thousands of articles for different media outlets, led teams, and conducted interviews with players.

When I’m not behind the keyboard, I’m watching Galatasaray, following the NBA, or pretending I’m still good at basketball. I also work full-time at AnyDesk, writing serious things in not-so-serious ways.
