What is the Kitana Knife in VALORANT?

The Kitana knife, also known as the Ignite Melee weapon from the Ignite capsule, was released on July 12, 2023 by Riot Games and VALORANT to celebrate the release and launch of a Chinese region VALORANT server.

This marked the official launch date of Riot Games being able to directly target one of the biggest audiences and target markets they could possibly have, so the Kitana knife was released worldwide to celebrate that.

The knife was rumored at the time to be exclusive to the brand new Chinese region, but Riot Games quickly squashed these rumors and announced on the same day that the Kitana knife would be released on every server worldwide.

Whether this was initially the plan, or whether Riot Games and the VALORANT dev team saw the popularity of this brand new knife worldwide, and then decided to make it available to everyone on every server is unknown, but it is pretty cool nonetheless.

How much did the the Kitana VALORANT Knife Cost?

For the whole Ignite Collection bundle, the price was 4710 VALORANT Points, which is about $50 for the bundle.

A lot of fans of the knife were very shocked when the price was released, but to commemorate such a huge occasion for Riot Games and VALORANT, we think they can get away with it this one time.

What was included in the Kitana VALORANT Knife Bundle?

The Kitana knife was the only weapon skin in the Ignite Collection Bundle, although it does also come with the additional Radianite Points upgrades of animations and a violet kitana variant, contrasting with the red and orange of the base Kitana knife.

Two player cards were also included in the Ignite Collection bundle, which were:

Ignite: Huang Card Ignite: Feng Card

Whilst this an awesome knife skin, the Kitana VALORANT knife is a big commitment, being $50 for the bundle, especially as it is not possible to purchase certain parts separately, unlike normal bundles that Riot Games release.

If you missed out on the Kitana knife and the Ignite Collection bundle the first time around, we are actually unsure if there will be a second time, as the Kitana knife is unavailable to pop up in your daily store in VALORANT.

There is a possibility it could appear in your Night Market, but considering the knife wasn’t able to be purchased individually from the rest of the bundle when it was available for 14 days, we are not holding out hope.

Riot Games might rerelease the bundle alongside a special occasion, potentially the one year anniversary of the Chinese VALORANT region, but that is just speculation, and if this is true, it will be a while before you can get your hands on the Kitana VALORANT knife.

Hi, my name is Eddie, I am a full-time writer and short-form video editor, with a degree in Esports! My main games are VALORANT and League of Legends, so you could say that I am at the beck and call of Riot Games! I have worked previously for a few different websites, doing various roles, such as writing, editing, and even voiceovers, but here at THESPIKE, I am an out-and-out article writer, so I can really get as much content out as I can! I graduated with my Esports degree with a 2:1, and a desire to keep going, so this was a perfect step for me, but I still can't get enough of League of Legends when I'm free.
