Valorant’s Beta bundle brings back classic skins as the mobile beta drops in China. From old-school knives to touchscreen firefights, here’s what’s going down.

    VALORANT Beta bundle overview

The 5 Years // Beta Remastered bundle was released to mark VALORANT’s fifth anniversary, offering fans a chance to relive the game’s origins. Its highlight is the original Imperium melee knife, restored in its authentic beta-era form, something that hadn’t been accessible for years.

Along with the knife, the VALORANT bundle included nostalgic accessories like an animated beta-era player card, a reactive gun buddy, and a spray playing the classic beta lobby music.

The melee knife features a smooth flipping inspect animation and comes in three color variants: red, blue, and purple. It’s a subtle, straightforward design, reflecting the simplicity of VALORANT’s early days.

    Unlocking upgrades and variants

To fully unlock the knife’s animations and color variants, players spent Radianite Points as follows:

    • Level 2: New animations and sound effects for equip, slash, and inspect.
    • Color Variants: Available only after full upgrade, with red, blue, and purple options. These upgrades enhance the knife’s presence without sacrificing its original aesthetic.

    OG knife vs beta version

The original Imperium knife, introduced during VALORANT's closed beta in April 2020, featured a sleek green blade adorned with a golden dragon motif. Its simple design and smooth flipping inspect animation made it a favorite among early players.

In contrast, the Beta Remastered knife, released in 2025, stays true to the original's aesthetics but introduces subtle enhancements. The blade retains its iconic green hue, but with added color variants—red, blue, and purple, providing players with more customization options.

The flipping inspect animation remains, maintaining the nostalgic feel, while the overall design is polished to meet modern standards.

Is the VALORANT Beta bundle worth it?

For longtime VALORANT fans and beta vets, this bundle is a heartfelt tribute to the game’s early days. Though not flashy, its authentic design and nostalgia make it a prized collectible. Now rare and no longer in the store, it’s a special keepsake for those who value VALORANT’s history.

VALORANT Mobile beta launch in China

VALORANT Mobile officially launched its closed beta in China, marking the game’s first step onto mobile platforms. Riot Games, in partnership with Lightspeed Studios (the team behind PUBG Mobile and Apex Legends Mobile), brought the tactical shooter experience to mobile players with features designed specifically for touchscreens.

As of July 4, over 40 million players have registered for the VALORANT beta in China.

The closed beta began in June 2025, with pre-registration already open. Players in China were the first to try it out, making the region the testing ground for mobile-exclusive features. These included a special “Team Battle” mode, quick pinging systems, quick chat, and even 120 FPS support on high-end devices.

To join the beta, players needed a mid-range phone—Android devices required at least a Snapdragon 450 or equivalent, and iPhones had to be a 6s or newer with iOS 12 or later.

How to pre-register for VALORANT Mobile in China in 4 steps

    • Visit the official registration website: Go to valm.qq.com, the official site for VALORANT Mobile in China.
    • Log in with your account: You’ll need to sign in using a WeChat or QQ account. These are the main platforms used for registration in China.

    • Wait for confirmation: If your registration is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation message. If selected for the beta, you’ll be notified later with download instructions and access details.

    Heads-up for players outside China

Pre‑registration is currently open only in China, with sign-up available via the official site and WeChat/QQ integration. Global sign-ups through the App Store or Google Play will follow once Riot confirms wider rollout.
